“So what?” George’s mind was completely consumed by Charlotte’s influence. “We have another life after this one. Miss Charlotte told me that even if we can’t be together in this life, she’ll make it up to me in the next!”
“The next life?” Suzy couldn’t help but laugh. “I was wondering what kind of hold Charlotte had on you to make you so blindly loyal. And it’s this ridiculous reason? She didn’t choose you in this life, and you’re hoping for the next? George, I’ve seen some pathetic people, but none more so than you.”
She stepped closer, pulling out a gun and pressing it firmly against George’s forehead.” Frankly, it doesn’t matter whether you talk or not. I don’t believe for a second that I can’t find my father without you. If I have to tear this entire planet apart, I will. No matter how far or how hidden, I’ll find him.”
Seeing the murderous glint in Suzy’s eyes and realizing she was serious, Wendy panicked and dropped to her knees, begging. “Miss Frost, please don’t act rashly! Give me a little time. I’ll persuade him. I promise I’ll make him tell you everything he knows!”
“There’s no need,” Suzy replied coldly, showing no hint of mercy. “I already told yo that I don’t care to know anymore. I’ll find him myself.”
“No, no, no!” Wendy pleaded desperately. “That would take too long! Your father is already in his fifties or sixties. What if he doesn’t survive until you find him? Please, give me one more chance. I’ll convince him!”
Suzy glanced at Wendy with a sharp gaze. “Are you sure?”
Wendy nodded frantically. “I’m sure!”
“Fine!” Suzy sneered. “For the sake of Mr. Mason, I’ll give you one last chance.”
The mother and son were sent back, but before leaving, Allen warned them, “Don’t even think about running.”
After Allen left, Wendy immediately began trying to reason with George.
“George, stop being so stubborn. You’re your father’s only bloodline. If you die, I’ll never be able to make it up to him!” Wendy’s voice was heavy with regret, and her eyes brimmed with guilt. She truly regretted everything.
George sneered mockingly. “That’s your guilt to bear, not mine. What does it have to do with me?”
The ridicule on his face deepened, “When you were fooling around with Zack, did you ever think about betraying my dad then?”
“You–you knew?” Wendy stammered, shocked. She had always thought her son was in the dark.

“Of course I knew!” George replied coldly. “You killed my dad for Zack, but I’m not allowed to hide someone for Charlotte?”
Wendy was left speechless for a long moment before finally finding her voice. “That’s why I said I was wrong! I was deceived by Zack for over twenty years and ended up like this. I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I did!
“Son, listen to me. Tell Miss Frost the truth. If you don’t, she’ll really kill you!”
“Then let her kill me!” George laughed darkly. “Once I’m dead, no one will ever know where that old man is hidden!”
He smirked coldly. “Mom, don’t let her scare you. She’s just putting on a show. If she really intended to kill me, she wouldn’t have let you say all of this in the first place. You wouldn’t even have the chance.”
George was truly beyond saving. Just then, a group of men dressed in black stormed into the
room.
“You–who are you?” George demanded.
Dylan entered, pushed forward by Desmond, his expression icy. “I heard you’re quite stubborn. I came to see for myself.”
