Watching Suzy cry her heart out, Dylan neither comforted nor stopped her. He simply let her
vent.
The amount of grief and frustration she had endured during this time was overwhelming. As strong as she was, she had bottled it all up inside and if she didn’t release it, it might break her.
She was human, not a god. There was no need to always endure in silence.
Suzy crouched on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably.
The betrayal by Charlotte and Claude, the guilt of having killed her own mother, the father she still couldn’t find…
All these burdens felt like a massive weight crushing her, making it hard to breathe.
After pouring out all the anguish and frustration in her heart, Suzy finally felt a little better. She lifted her gaze to Dylan, frowning deeply. It was rare for her to cry in front of others, and she quickly snapped, “Dylan, forget what you just saw. Don’t you dare tell anyone about this. If you do, I won’t forgive you!”
Dylan’s lips curved into a faint smile. “Don’t worry. This is our little secret.”
“There’s no ‘our secret‘!” Suzy retorted sharply. “You’re you, and I’m me. Don’t try to lump us together!”
With that, she immediately gave him the boot. “You can leave now. I’m not seeing you off.”
Dylan neither agreed nor protested. Instead, he calmly said, “George’s mother might know something.”
“What do you mean?” Suzy’s attention was instantly drawn. “Is there something suspicious about George’s mother?”
“No,” Dylan replied. “Based on the investigation, she doesn’t have a single anomaly. But that’s exactly what makes it suspicious.
“Especially since George has been missing for days now. As a mother who depends on him, she hasn’t shown the slightest bit of concern. Don’t you think that’s strange?”
Suzy frowned. “Got it.”
She immediately called Allen. “Bring George’s mother here.”
After hanging up, she glanced at Dylan. “You’ve said your piece. Why are you still here?”
Dylan was speechless.
He had seen plenty of people burn bridges after crossing them, but Suzy practically dismantled the entire bridge.

Suzy had assumed she might find her a little unfamiliar, but surprisingly, there wasn’t the slightest hint of confusion in the woman’s eyes. Instead, she feigned ignorance and asked, ” Who are you?”
“You know exactly who I am,” Suzy replied coldly, her tone dripping with sarcasm. “Wendy Lane, stop pretending. Your eyes have already betrayed you.”
“I don’t understand what you’re talking about,” Wendy responded, scanning Suzy up and down. “Who are you, and why have you brought me here?”
“If you don’t know, let me remind you,” Suzy said bluntly, gesturing for George to be brought in. “You might not know me, but you surely recognize him, don’t you?
“Don’t tell me you don’t even know your own son?”
The moment Wendy saw George, she rushed over. “Son… Son!”
She called out to him several times, but George remained unresponsive. Turning to glare at Suzy, she demanded, “What did you do to my son?”
“Oh, so you do care about him,” Suzy remarked with a faint smile. “I thought you didn’t. After all, he’s been missing for days, and you didn’t seem the least bit worried.”
Suzy’s lips curved slightly as she continued, “For the record, I didn’t do anything to your son. He’s the one who did this to himself.”
“To himself?” Wendy looked baffled. “How could he do this to himself?”
“That’s something you’ll have to explain,” Suzy replied, raising an eyebrow. “Self–hypnosis. Surely you’re familiar with it? After all, he’s your son. You must know what he’s capable of.”
