Desmond found the idea hard to believe. Could someone really hypnotize themselves?
After consulting Allen, he discovered it was indeed possible.
“There is a rather advanced form of hypnosis that allows for self–hypnosis. However, I’ve only ever heard of it; I’ve never seen it done myself,” Allen explained over the phone. “It’s very likely that George did just that. I need to inform Boss right away!”
When Allen came to find Suzy, she had already considered the possibility. So, when he excitedly finished explaining, she remained calm.
“Got it.”
“Judging by your reaction, I guess you’d already figured it out. You and Dylan really think alike, huh?”
Suzy was speechless. Did they think alike?
Suzy scoffed inwardly but said nothing. Instead, she began searching for information on self- hypnosis.
This type of self–hypnosis was not the same as the usual psychological reinforcement people perform on themselves. It was far more complex.
After searching for a while, none of the answers she found were satisfactory.
To break self–hypnosis, the hypnotized person had to awaken themselves. The chances of anyone else waking them were extremely low.
So even though they now knew George had hypnotized himself, it didn’t help much. No one but George could wake him up!
This result was the last thing anyone wanted to face.
After such a long search, they had finally found a clue, only to hit another dead end.
Everyone already felt frustrated, but Suzy, being the one directly involved, must have felt even
worse.
They all knew how much she longed to reunite with her father after so many years of separation. Her pain was evident to everyone.
They wanted to comfort her but didn’t know what to say.

wounds. Even though she seemed composed on the surface, they all knew she was hiding her grief deep inside.
How could they wake George?
Everyone racked their brains, desperately searching for a way to bring him back.
But if even Suzy couldn’t manage it, how could anyone else?
She found it hard to accept. After all the effort she had put in, just when it seemed like they were close to an answer, everything fell apart, leaving them back at square one.
How could she possibly feel okay about it?
She didn’t even know whether her father was alive or dead. Even if he were alive, who knew what kind of suffering he might be enduring? Considering how much George hated him and with Charlotte no longer around, there was no telling what limits George might cross.
The more she thought about it, the more distressed she felt, especially since she had tried so many methods, and yet George showed no reaction at all.
Dylan was fully aware of her frustration and despair, which was why he came straight to see her, disregarding everything else.
When Suzy saw him, her irritation only deepened. “Dylan, who told you to come? Didn’t I say I never wanted to see you again?”
:
Dylan knew she was upset, so he responded gently. “Suzy, don’t overthink this. You’ll find your father one day, I promise.”
“And when will that be?” Suzy snapped, her brows furrowing tightly. “Dylan, it’s easy for you to talk–you’re not the one going through this. That’s my father, not yours. I’ve been searching for so long, and I still don’t even know if he’s alive or dead. Everyone keeps saying- I’m strong, but I’m not strong at all! I’m nothing, absolutely nothing!”
Like a spring wound too tightly, Suzy finally snapped. Tears streamed down her face as she cried, no longer able to hold it in, looking every bit like a lost, helpless child.
