Chapter 0588
The man was unremarkable, about the same age as Tanya.
As soon as he saw Suży, he demanded, “Did you have me detained? Who do you think you are?”
“Who do I think I am? Shouldn’t you be asking yourself that?” Suzy replied with a cold smile. Talk–what’s your relationship with Tanya?”
“Oh, so Tanya sent you!” The man sneered, his tone dripping with sarcasm. “What is this, huh? She’s done using me and now wants to toss me aside?
–“Well, you can tell Tanya there’s no chance of that happening. Unless she gives me what she
promised, I’ll keep haunting her. If she’s got the guts, she can kill me!”
“From the sound of it, Tanya took advantage of you?” Suzy asked, pulling over a chair and sitting across from him, legs crossed.

“Exactly. That woman made all kinds of promises at the beginning, but as soon as it was done, she went back on her word. We’re all in this world trying to get by. What makes her think she can treat me like that? he’ll give me what she owes, or I’ll never let it go!”
“What did she promise you?” Suzy pressed.
“Why should I tell you?” the man shot back with a mocking laugh. “Just relay my message to her as is.”
Though he didn’t reveal anything outright, Suzy had already pieced together enough. She stood up from her chair and left the basement without a word.
Allen followed her out. “Why didn’t you press him further?”
“For what?” Suzy replied without looking back. “He’s just a scapegoat.”
“A scapegoat?” Allen was taken aback. “So, you’re saying this guy is just a decoy?”
“A terrible one at that,” Suzy remarked, unable to hold back her disdain. “Check his accounts -personal, family, friends–see if anything suspicious pops up. But don’t alert him.”
“Got it!” Allen nodded, already moving to follow her orders.
“No wonder it was so easy to track him down,” Suzy thought. “They must think I’m stupid enough to fall for this act.”
Well, if they wanted to play games, she’d play along.
Following Suzy’s instructions, Allen checked not only the man’s accounts but those of his close associates. Sure enough, a mysterious deposit of one million dollars appeared.
Just as expected,” Suzy said, reviewing the results without surprise. “Trace this anonymous

“On it!” Allen confirmed.
A mysterious figure, anonymous accounts…
It seemed Tanya had far more secrets than Suzy had imagined.
Since that was the case, Suzy decided to pay Tanya a visit. After all, it had been a long time since they last saw each other.
She was well aware that Dylan had detained Tanya and understood his motives for doing so.
But as always, Suzy didn’t care.
As she often said, whatever Dylan wanted to do was his business. She had no right to interfere.
That night, Suzy slipped into the secured room where Tanya was being held.
There was a saying, “Timing is everything.”
And Suzy’s timing couldn’t have been better or worse. She arrived just as Dylan was about to leave.
“Suzy…”
Before he could say more, she raised a hand, gesturing for him to stop. “I’m here to see Tanya, not you.”
With that, she brushed past him and headed inside.
Dylan, momentarily stunned, clenched his jaw in frustration. He composed himself and wheeled after her.
Before they even reached Tanya’s room, a strange noise caught their attention.
Suzy’s pace quickened, but she was still a step too late.
When she entered the room, Tanya’s face was ashen, her skin pale as paper, clearly showing signs of poisoning.
Suzy immediately drew a set of silver needles from her waist and swiftly applied them to Tanya’s pressure points, halting the spread of the toxin.
Tanya was their only lead right now, and Suzy couldn’t afford to lose her.
