Chapter 0566
Back then, she had sworn she would never forgive him, even harboring resentment toward him. But now, things were different.
Before, she gave him several chances, even considering reconciliation. Whether out of gratitude or something else, at the very least, she no longer hated him.
So, no matter what, there was still a chance. He just had to wair. There was no way Suzy would keep the door closed forever.
Desmond, who had come along with Dylan, stood off to the side, silent as ever
Originally, he hadn’t planned to come. But since Victor was tied up with other matters, Desmond had no choice but to make arrangements at home and accompany Dylan.
Dylan told him to stay behind, knowing the situation with Desmond’s family and not wanting to trouble him. But Desmond couldn’t bring himself to leave Dylan alone
After all, Suzy was notoriously stubborn, and Dylan wasn’t exactly known for saying the right things.
Desmond was present during the conversations between Elliot and Simon with Dylan. He kept quiet throughout because his position prevented him from intervening too much.
But now, Desmond could no longer hold back. If he didn’t step in, Dylan might just starve himself waiting outside that door.
Taking advantage of a moment alone under the guise of a bathroom break, he discreetly dialed Suzy’s number. He hadn’t expected her to pick up, but to his surprise, she answered.
The excitement in Desmond’s voice was undeniable. “Mrs. Wright, I’m so glad you answered. I truly didn’t want to disturb you. After all, what happens between you and Mr. Wright isn’t my place to interfere…”
“If you know that, then don’t say another word!” Suzy cut him off sharply. “Desmond, you know my temper. The one you should be advising isn’t me–it’s Dylan!”
Desmond was momentarily at a loss for words but quickly recovered. “Mrs. Wright, I know what Mr. Wright did before made you angry, but everything he did was for your sake.
“He truly believed he’d spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. And you’re still young. After all the hardships you’ve endured, he didn’t want to drag you down.”
“Yes, and I’m grateful to him for that,” Suzy replied calmly. “Honestly, the reason I considered remarrying him before was purely because he saved my life.
“I’m someone who settles her debts. I didn’t want to owe him anything. But thinking about it now, there are plenty of
interested in it eith ways to repay him. It doesn’t have to be that way. Besides, he wasn’t
interested in it either, so I didn’t push it.”

“Mrs. Wright, it’s not like that…” Desmond said, rubbing his temples in frustration. “Mr. Wright got stuck in his own head before, but he’s changed now. He’s realized that even if he never walks again, he can still make you happy.”
“Whether he’s figured things out or not is his business. Desmond, the only reason I answered your call is to tell you to take Dylan back.
“I’m not going to see him. Camping outside someone’s door every day is a bit much, especially when my brother is here. He’s a well–known figure, and this isn’t a good look.”
“Mrs. Wright…”
“I’ve told you so many times not to call me that anymore. Is it really that hard to break the habit?” Suzy chuckled softly. “If you can’t tell Dylan yourself, then pass me the phone, and I’ll tell him directly.”
Desmond hesitated, then decided. “I’ll relay your message to him.”
He knew that if Suzy told Dylan herself, the blow might be too much to bear. It was better if he
livered the bad news.
Summoning his courage, Desmond repeated Suzy’s words to Dylan. “Sir, she’s made up her mind this time. Waiting here endlessly isn’t going to solve anything. Maybe we need a different approach.”
“What approach?”
Leaning in, Desmond whispered his suggestion in Dylan’s ear.
