Chapter 0564
Before this, Elliot had never met Dylan, nor did he even know of his existence.
He only learned about him when someone came looking for Suzy, and she refused to meet him. Noticing that Suzy seemed off, he quietly asked the servant and found out that Suzy had gotten married during the time he lost his memory.
His feelings for Suzy were not something new. Even back when he was her apprentice, his affection for her had slowly grown from a mentor–mentee relationship to romantic feelings.
But at the time, he was young and too afraid to confess, worried she wouldn’t accept him. So, he buried those feelings deep inside, thinking he’d tell her once he was older. But then, everything changed when he got into that accident and lost his memory for years.
Learning that Suzy got married was a blow to Elliot. No man could accept the woman he loved marrying someone else.
But then he heard they had divorced.
It felt like a shift from hell to heaven.
He secretly searched online for information about Dylan.
It turned out that he was the richest man in Ashbourne City, but so what?
Money might be all–powerful, but it was useless when it came to love–especially since his mentor didn’t lack for money.
Seeing that Dylan was now disabled, Elliot felt more confident.
Compared to Dylan, apart from the fact that he had more money from the Wright family, Elliot felt that there was little else Dylan had over him–especially considering his age.
Thinking of Simon’s support, Elliot felt his chances were great!
But even so, he still went to see Dylan that night, after Suzy had fallen asleep.
“You haven’t eaten all day. Eat this to fill your stomach,” he said, handing Dylan the food he had brought with him.
This was the first time Dylan and Elliot net.
As the saying goes, “When rivals meet, sparks fly,” and this was certainly the case between the two m
From the moment they saw each other, their gazes were sharp and filled with tension. Although Elliot spoke with outward politeness, he secretly wished Dylan would leave as soon as possible. After all, he was the man Suzy had once loved, and no matter how confident Elliot felt, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of competition.
Dylan, on the other hand, wasted no time in introducing himself, making his presence even
more obvious. “Elliot Hayes, nice to meet you. I’m Dylan Wright. I’m quite close to your mentor.”
“I heard you and Suzy have divorced. So, I don’t think you’re that close to her,” Elliot replied smoothly. “It seems like you’ve done some homework on me, Mr. Wright.”
“Divorce is just temporary,” Dylan said cryptically, not elaborating further.
Elliot smiled. “I suspect that ‘temporary‘ is something only you believe, Mr. Wright. If it were really temporary, my mentor wouldn’t have refused to see you. By the way, she mentioned that even if you waited here for the rest of your life, she wouldn’t see you again. So, I’d suggest you head back. Your health isn’t the best after all.”
“Women always say things they don’t mean when they’re angry,” Dylan replied, dismissing Elliot with a nonchalant shrug. “The more upset they are, the more it shows they care.” Facing a younger man by several years, Dylan had no intention of taking him seriously. “After all, couples argue in the heat of the moment, but they always make up in the end.”
“I don’t think you’ll be making up,” Elliot said, leaning in slightly, his eyes locked onto Dylan’s with intensity. “The one who will be sharing my mentor’s bed from now on won’t be you. It’ll be me.”
