Suzy discreetly followed Helena and ended up meeting the leader of the underground. organization her nanny had mentioned.
Helena handed a photo to the man, who confirmed what the nanny had already said. “Yeah, that’s the guy. Someone paid a hefty sum to have us transport him to that area.”

The man glanced at the nanny. “Old lady, didn’t you already ask about this? Why are yo again?”
Helena frowned. “I did, but based on the information you gave, we couldn’t find him.”
“Not finding him isn’t my fault,” the man said, spitting on the ground. “What, you think I’m lying to you?”
He pounded his chest confidently. “Go ahead, ask anyone. Nobody will tell you I,
that Jack Stone, ever lie! Believe it or not, we did deliver the man to the location. If he’s not there now, someone must have moved him after we dropped him off. It’s been months since then.”
Jack had a point–there was a real possibility the man had been relocated. But who was the one secretly pulling the strings?
To uncover the truth, Suzy would have to follow the trail Jack had started.
After Helena left, Suzy approached Jack herself.
“Who are you?”
Jack seemed startled by her sudden appearance.
“Who I am doesn’t matter,” Suzy said bluntly. “What matters is that I want to make a deal with you.”
She got straight to the point, holding up a case. “Here’s one million dollars. All you need to do is tell me who hired you to transport that man to the no–man’s–land. The money’s yours.”
Jack was tempted by the huge sum of money. Despite being the leader of a gang, his recent extravagant lifestyle had left him short pn–cash.
“Add another one million dollars, and I’ll tell
Suzy didn’t hesitate. “Deal.”

Her straightforward agreement left him stunned. If he’d known she’d be this generous, he would’ve asked for more.
After Suzy handed over a check for two million dollars, the man finally spilled the information. “It was a young girl, a bit younger than you. She paid me two hundred thousand dollars at the time.”

Suzy’s first thought was Tanya Goodwin, the daughter of Charlotte. But would Tanya really do something like that?
For someone like Tanya, who had always been neglected by her mother, would she go out of her way to help her?
Yet, if it wasn’t Tanya, who else would be helping Charlotte pull these strings?
After running through all the possibilities, Tanya still seemed the most suspicious.
To confirm her suspicions, Suzy called Allen. “I need you to investigate Tanya’s activities over the past few months. Pay special attention to her travel history, particularly border crossings. Also, look into Mark’s records while you’re at it.
Allen sounded puzzled. “Why are you suddenly asking about the Goodwins?”

Suzy hesitated for a moment before explaining, I didn’t want to say anything yet, but there’s a lead suggesting my father was secretly hidden by a young girl.”
“So, you think it’s Tanya?” Allen sounded doubtful. “That doesn’t seem likely. She hates Charlotte–why would she help her?”
“We’ll see what the investigation turns up,” Suzy replied. “No matter how much she claims to hate Charlotte, blood ties run deep. It’s possible she’s only pretending to despise her mother to mislead me.”
“Good point. Alright, I’ll get people on it right away.
