Halfway through the meal, Helena excused herself to use the restroom. Riley, sensing an opportunity, decided she should give Dylan and Suzy some time alone. Perhaps they had things to say that couldn’t be discussed with Helena constantly hovering nearby.

Suzy chuckled lightly. “Exactly, Mr. Wright. With Helena looking after you, I don’t have to worry about things that aren’t my concern anymore.”
She paused, then added casually, “Honestly, I think you and Helena are a perfect match. Not just in terms of status, but in other ways too. You’re practically made for each other. She’s a good girl. I’m sure Grandma and Diana will like her.
“Enough!” Dylan snapped, his voice taut with frustration. He’d been holding it in for too long. “Suzy, my life is none of your business!”
Not wanting to drag her into his mess was one thing but watching her push him toward another woman so eagerly was something else entirely.
Seeing the anger etched on his face, Suzy’s eyes flickered with something unreadable before she said flatly, “Fine. From now on, I won’t involve myself in your life at all.”
With that, she stood and walked away without so much as a glance back.
Dylan’s frustration boiled over, and he slammed his fist onto the table, sending his water glass crashing to the floor, shattering on impact.
Helena, returning from the restroom, witnessed the entire scene. Her eyes flickered with something dark, though her expression remained composed. Acting as though nothing had happened, she approached the table with a concerned smile.
“What happened? Did the glass slip?” she asked, inspecting Dylan as if checking for burns. “Are you hurt?”
Dylan pushed her hands away. “Helena, we need to talk.”
“If this is about trying to convince me to leave, don’t bother,” Helena said firmly, cutting him off. “Once I’ve made a decision, I never change my mind. I said I’d take responsibility. for you, and I will until the day your life ends!”

Dylan frowned, his sharp brows drawing together. “Even if I don’t need you to?”
“Exactly.” Helena stared directly into his icy, impatient eyes. “Instead of resisting, I think you should try accepting me. Don’t worry, I’ll make a great wife!”
He had encountered difficult people before, but Helena was in a league of her own. She was like superglue–impossible to shake off no matter what he said.
Her persistence hit a new level when she insisted on sharing his bed at night.
“Helena, you’re a woman!” Dylan said, incredulous.
How could a woman be so shameless?
“Of course, I’m a woman!” Helena blinked innocently. “What, do I not seem womanly enough? Want to check for yourself?”
Dylan was speechless.
Talking to her was like arguing with a brick wall.
He took a deep breath, trying to rein in his temper. “In my country, men and women don’t share a room until they’ve formally confirmed their relationship.”
“Is that so?” Helena arched a brow, unconvinced. “Let me call Suzy and check.”
