Chapter 0532
“Isn’t this a bit too much?” Riley exclaimed, eyeing the table piled high with food. “How are you going to finish all this?”
Suzy replied casually, “Helena’s joining us later.”
Riley paused, then gave Suzy a thumbs–up. “You’re really nailing this ‘best ex–wife ever‘ thing. You’ve taken it to a whole new level!”

Suzy chuckled lightly. “Do you think there’s an award for that? If there is, make cast your vote for me.”
“Of course!” Riley pointed to the food. “So, do I get a share of this feast?”
“What do you think?” Suzy raised an eyebrow. “Even if there’s none for you, there’s definitely some for my godchild!”
Taking the hint, Riley didn’t hold back and grabbed a piece of bread, biting into it. “Why is it that pregnant women are always hungry? I ate so much on the plane, but now I feel like I could devour an entire cow!”
Suzy laughed. “You’re asking me? I wouldn’t know. I’ve never been pregnant!”
Riley paused mid–bite and raised a brow. “Boss, aren’t you even a little worried about letting Helena share a room with Dylan? What if they end up… well, making a baby? You know how men are–they think with their lower halves. Even if there’s no love involved things can still happen.”
Suzy found her comment amusing. “If they do end up having a kid, what does that have to do with me? They’re both single adults. It’s not like it’s illegal.”
Her words were perfectly timed for Dylan and Helena, who had just arrived, with Helena pushing Dylan’s wheelchair.
Dylan’s expression darkened slightly at Suzy’s remark, though he didn’t say anything. Helena, on the other hand, was all smiles. She walked over and sweetly called out, “Senior!

The term made Riley nearly choke on her bread. “Wait a second–you’re older than boss, aren’t you? And not by just a year, if I recall!”

“That’s right!” Helena admitted without hesitation. “But even so, I still have to call her my senior. After all, she was Dylan’s first wife, and everything she’s done has certainly earned her that respect.

Helena’s way of addressing Dylan had grown increasingly intimate. Before entering the room, she had still called him Mr. Dylan, but now it was down to a single syllable- Dylan.

To an outsider, it might seem like something had happened between them behind closed
doors.
Suzy, however, didn’t comment on it. Instead, she gestured toward the table. “Take a seat. I wasn’t sure what you’d like, so I ordered a little of everything. If there’s anything you don’t like, let me know, and I’ll have the staff switch it out.”
“No need, Senior. Everything you picked looks great,” Helena said cheerfully as she wheeled Dylan to the seat opposite Suzy. “Dylan, tell me what you want, and I’ll serve it for you.”
Before Dylan could respond, Suzy pointed to one of the dishes. “He likes this one. And this one, too.”
Helena didn’t hesitate, picking up her fork and placing the dishes Suzy mentioned onto Dylan’s plate. “It seems Senior knows Dylan’s preferences very well.”
Suzy let out a light laugh. “Well, we did live together for three years. Even with a terrible memory, that’s plenty of time to remember a thing or two. If you’d like, I could write up a list of his favorite foods later and send it to you.”
“That’d be great!” Helena replied without a hint of modesty. “Thank you, Senior!”
Suzy smiled. “Why thank me? If anything, I should be thanking you.”
Helena might not have caught the undertone, but Dylan certainly did.
Her friendliness toward Helena wasn’t driven by politeness or warmth. It came from sheer relief that someone else was finally willing to take him off her hands.
So, all those earlier gestures–her suggestion of reconciling–hadn’t been about rekindling feelings at all? It was simply gratitude?
