Back at the hotel, Suzy immediately explained the situation to Dylan and the others.
Since they were supporting characters in her plan, they needed to know the developments in advance; otherwise, how could they cooperate to make the performance convincing?
“Wait a second!” Victor seemed a bit overwhelmed. “Are you saying that the man from that night wasn’t your lover but actually your biological brother?”
Before Suzy could respond, Dylan picked up a pillow nearby and threw it directly at Victor. If you have nothing better to say, just shut up!”
“I didn’t know better!”
The term “lover” wasn’t exactly the most tasteful choice, but given his shock, wasn’t it a natural slip?
Thinking this over, Victor looked at Dylan. “Lucas, I have to say, your trust in Suzy is absolutely spot on. She really isn’t that kind of person!”
Then he turned his gaze to Suzy. “Suzy, Lucas not only loves you but also trusts you. Don’t tell me you haven’t noticed how good he is to you!”
Victor still didn’t know about Dylan keeping his distance from Suzy. He thought it was Suzy being cold–hearted and refusing to accept Dylan.
So, when given the chance, he hurried to speak up for Dylan.
Before Suzy could say anything, Dylan cut him off. “You talk too much.”
“Get it straight. I’m helping you here!”
“I don’t need it.”
“You’re absolutely ungrateful!”
Suzy looked at Dylan with a meaningful smile. “I think he’s right. You really are ungrateful.”
Both Dylan and Victor were speechless.
Why did this feel a little… off?
Just as Victor was about to say something, Suzy didn’t give him the chance. She quickly spoke, “Fortunately, my brother understands what I mean. On the way back just now, I got his message, and he said he’d cooperate with me. So, Evangeline will likely come after me

“No one is taking her without my permission!” Dylan stated firmly, his voice unwavering. “ . Unless you’re prepared to become my enemy.”
