Without hesitation, Suzy pressed the button on her watch. A thin silver wire shot out, wrapping tightly around the man’s waist mid–air.
To her surprise, he didn’t appreciate the lifeline. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a knife and tried to cut the wire but it was made from a special material and couldn’t be
severed so easily. Securing the other end of the window frame, Suzy rushed to the elevator, determined to see who he was.

But when she reached the ground floor, the man was gone.
Gone? In less than a minute?
It was impossible by normal standards, yet he’d done it. Scanning the area, Suzy saw no signs of him and no plausible hiding spots. He had vanished.
“I should’ve skipped the elevator and jumped down myself.”
She silently berated her miscalculation.
As she turned to leave, a sharp voice echoed from above. “Who are you? When did you get into my room-”
The voice cut off abruptly, leaving an ominous silence.
Narrowing her eyes, Suzy leapt up and landed lightly on the third–floor balcony, where the voice had come from.
Inside the room, a woman stood wrapped in a bath towel, her face pale with fright. She let out a startled scream the moment she saw Suzy
“Ah!”
The woman couldn’t fathom why strangers kept showing up to terrify her that night.
Suzy strode toward the woman.
“Was there someone in your room just now?” Suzy asked directly.
The woman stammered, “N–no one!”
“No one?”
“Yes, no one!”
“Look me in the eye and say that again.‘
The woman hesitated, her guilt plain as day. “I–I swear, no one was here! Besides you.”

“Then why did you scream just now?” Suzy’s tone grew sharper, her gaze fixed on the woman. “Don’t tell me you didn’t. I heard it from downstairs.”

“I–I was just watching TV!” the woman stuttered. “The volume was too loud, that’s all…”
“You take a bath and watch TV at the same time?” Suzy’s tone turned menacing, her expression darkening. “I don’t have much patience, so I suggest you think carefully before you speak.”
The woman swallowed hard, her eyes darting nervously. “I–I…”
What was she supposed to say?
Neither the woman in front of her nor the man from earlier seemed like people to mess with–especially the man. He had stormed into her room moments ago and, without a word, grabbed her by the throat.
She had barely escaped being strangled to death!
Caught between fear and indecision, the woman hesitated for a long moment before deciding to play dead. Letting out a faint groan, she dramatically collapsed to the floor. The impact hurt like hell, and she nearly cried out from the pain in her backside.
But compared to whatever these people might do to her, this was nothing.
Suzy saw right through her little act, her sharp gaze giving away her disbelief.
Forget it,” she thought, sighing inwardly.
The woman had clearly been through enough tonight. Being cornered in the middle of the night by two strangers was bad enough without Suzy adding to her misery.
Glancing around the room, Suzy’s eyes locked onto the bathroom.
The woman was still wrapped in her towel, with droplets of water trailing down her skin and her hair visibly wet. That meant when the man had barged in, she must have been mid- bath.
Narrowing her eyes, Suzy strode toward the bathroom and kicked the door open without hesitation.
The bathroom was small, and she took in everything at a
glance.
No one was there.
Her attention shifted to the window, and when she walked over to check, she spotted him.
As she had suspected, the man was clinging to the outside of the building, preparing to climb down.
