Chapter 0467
Suzy was blindfolded and taken to an unknown location.
Though her vision was obstructed, she relied on her other senses to memorize notable features along the way. For instance, halfway through the drive, the air was filled with the distinct fragrance of sunflowers on both sides of the road.
She also detected the presence of a chemical plant nearby. For someone with a background in chemistry and physics, distinguishing chemical elements from the faintly acrid scent in the air wasn’t particularly difficult.
By noting these features, she figured it would be relatively easy to locate the place on her own if needed.
After a bumpy ride, the car finally stopped. The policeman opened the door and helped Suzy out. “The path here is a bit uneven. Watch your step.”
Suzy nodded. “Alright.”
With the policeman supporting her, they walked for about ten minutes before he said, We’re here. Wait by the door while I go announce your arrival.”
Suzy nodded again. “Okay.”
The ten–minute walk had indeed been as rough as he mentioned. The path seemed to be paved with cobblestones, which felt uneven underfoot.
Even though she was alone now, Suzy knew there were likely many eyes on her. To show her sincerity, she stood quietly by the door, making no unnecessary moves until the policeman returned.
“Come in. Our master is waiting for you inside.
Following him into the room, she heard him respectfully announce, “Master, the guest has arrived.”
A soft, calm response came. “You may leave.”
Suzy was stunned to realize the voice belonged to a woman.
So, the mastermind was a woman? Someone who had a grudge against Dylan and was vying for Evangeline’s power?
Once the policeman left, the room was silent, with only Suzy and the mysterious woman remaining
Suzy assumed the woman might want her to remain blindfolded, but instead, the woman spoke, “Miss Frost, you may remove the blindfold now.”

Since she was given permission, Suzy didn’t hesitate and removed it, but….
The woman wore a mask!
Not only that but she was dressed in a loose robe that completely obscured her figure.
“How thorough of you,” Suzy remarked with a faint chuckle, her eyes on the woman standing by the floor–to–ceiling window. “What’s the matter? Do you think I’m not being sincere enough?”
The woman seemed to understand her implication and let out a soft laugh. “Miss Frost, your sudden change in attitude is hard to ignore. If you were in my place, would you trust yourself completely?”
“Heh…” Suzy’s lips curled into a cold smile. “If you don’t trust me, then there’s no need for us to waste any more of each other’s time.
“Don’t be upset, Miss Frost,” the woman said in an uncharacteristically gentle voice. “You and I were bound to meet eventually. Why rush it?”
“If we’re bound to meet, then why not now?” Suzy replied, stepping forward to close the gap between them. “Wouldn’t it be better for me to know who my future partner is?”
The woman’s tone turned sharp but calm. “Your eagerness to see me gives the impression that your so–called compromise isn’t genuine. It feels more like a stalling tactic.”
This woman was clearly no easy opponent. Suzy narrowed her eyes slightly and relented with a shrug. “If you’re so unwilling to meet me, then I won’t force it.”
She casually made her way to the sofa and sat down. “But if I can’t see your face, surely you can at least tell me about the grudge you have with Dylan Wright. I can’t very well agree to help you without knowing anything, can I?”
