“I don’t care if I have to turn that entire city upside down–I will find Dylan!” Victor declared, his frustration boiling over.
“There’s no need,” Suzy replied coldly, her expression unreadable. “I can handle this myself.”
Despite the Whitmore family now targeting her, Suzy wasn’t concerned. In fact, she planned to turn the situation to her advantage.
A calculating glint flickered in her eyes as Suzy deliberately had people spread rumors: “Maya Whitmore was nearly buried alive by an unknown woman!”
“Can you believe it? That was Maya! Doesn’t that woman fear the Whitmore family?” “She deserved it if you ask me. She’s been arrogant and untouchable for too long- someone finally put her in her place!”
In no time, gossip about the incident was everywhere. The streets buzzed with speculation, and the once–dominant Maya found herself the subject of ridicule wherever she went.
As Maya walked through the city, she couldn’t ignore the sideways glances and whispered comments.
“Damn it! Why haven’t you caught that woman yet?” Maya’s fury boiled over at the mere thought of Suzy. “It’s all her fault! If it weren’t for her, no one would dare laugh at me. I don’t care what it takes–find her and end her!”
“Miss, maybe it’s best to let it go. That woman isn’t easy to deal with. Last time, so many of our people couldn’t even touch her…” the butler began cautiously.
“Shut up!” Maya snapped, her irritation spilling over. “That’s because you brought me nothing but useless idiots! I don’t care what you have to do–just find her!”
“No need to look. I’m already here.”
At the sound of Suzy’s calm voice, Maya instinctively took a step back, retreating behind the butler. Realizing her mistake, her face flushed with embarrassment. Forcing herself to stand her ground, she stepped out, masking her fear with defiance.
“Do you think my home is some kind of hotel, where you can come and go as you please?” Maya sneered, her voice rising sharply. “Guards! Take her and lock her up! This time, she’s going to pay!”
A wave of guards rushed in, but none dared to move against Suzy. Her presence alone was enough to freeze them in place.
“Useless fools!” Maya spat, frustration clear as she pulled the whip from her waist. Taking

a deep breath, she swung it toward Suzy with all her might.
Suzy reached out and effortlessly caught the whip Maya swung at her. “Maya Whitmore, I’m not here to fight you today.”
“Then why are you here?” Maya snapped, her tone sharp. “Don’t tell me you’re here to apologize. If so, get on your knees!”
Suzy shot her a cold glance. “What happened that day–you know it, I know it, and your servants wouldn’t dare breathe a word. Yet somehow, the whole city knows. Doesn’t that seem suspicious to you?”
“What are you getting at?”
“I’m saying someone is deliberately pitting us against each other,” Suzy replied calmly.” That day, someone intentionally sent me to you to demand answers.”
Maya, though young, wasn’t entirely lacking in intelligence. “So, you’re saying someone
from finding the person you’re looking for?” used me to distract you and stop you

“So I’ve been played from the start?” Maya frowned deeply, anger beginning to simmer.
“That seems to be the case,” Suzy said. “And whoever’s behind it isn’t just trying to stop me, they likely have a grudge against you as well.”
“Against me?” Maya paused for a moment, thinking it over.
Then, her expression darkened. “I think I know who it is!”
True to her fiery temperament, Maya grabbed her whip and stormed toward the door. ” How dare they use me, Maya Whitmore! I’ll show them exactly what it means to cross me! I’ll teach them the meaning of the word death!”
Suzy’s eyes glinted briefly with calculation as she followed behind Maya.
