Suzy hadn’t exposed him for one simple reason–she still didn’t know the truth about Dylan’s situation.
If he really was alive, provoking Claude might put him in even greater danger. So, she deliberately pretended as if she hadn’t noticed anything.
When Allen arrived on the island, he conducted an exhaustive search, scouring every inch inside and out. But there wasn’t a single trace of Dylan.
There weren’t just no people–there wasn’t even a shadow of a clue.
When Allen called to report back, Suzy’s heart sank. “Are you sure you checked everywhere?”
“Everywhere,” Allen replied. “I even wanted to dig up the rats to double–check. There’s nothing. Not a thing.”
He paused before continuing, “Boss, forgive me for being blunt, but I think Dylan’s
chances of survival are slim.
“Claude isn’t exactly a merciful person. And considering how much he saw Dylan as a thorn in his side, do you really think he’d let him live if he had the chance to get rid of him?”
Allen’s analysis was painfully logical.
It wasn’t just Claude–any man would find it hard to show mercy to a rival.
Even so, Suzy couldn’t accept it without proof. If Dylan was alive, she had to find him. If he was gone, she needed to bring him home, even if it was only his remains.
The only way to uncover Dylan’s whereabouts was through Claude, but there was no chance he’d confess easily.
Before she confronted Claude head–on, Suzy needed to secure Grace and Diana somewhere safe to ensure they wouldn’t become his next targets.
So, she came up with a pretext and approached the man masquerading as Dylan. “I need you to come with me to my
ometown.”
“Hometown?”
“Yes,” Suzy said, her

The man’s eyes flickered slightly, and after a moment, he nodded. “Alright. Wherever you go, I’ll go.”
Suzy curled her lips into a faint smile. “Alright then, pack your things. We’re leaving right away.”
Though she took the man with her, Suzy had Riley arrange for people to protect Grace and
Diana.
After everything she’d been through, Suzy knew there was nothing Claude wouldn’t do. Better to be safe than sorry.
Their destination was a remote mountainous area about a thousand kilometers from Ashbourne City. Despite its seclusion, it was far from backward.
In fact, the place was equipped with the most advanced satellite systems.
On the surface, it looked like an ordinary village. The villagers appeared unremarkable at first glance, but each one was a highly skilled expert in their field.
The moment Suzy stepped into the village, curious faces greeted her with questions. ” Boss, who’s that you’ve brought along?”
Suzy answered simply, “A patient.”
The man walking beside her seemed less than pleased. “Can’t I have a different title?” “And what would you prefer?” Suzy raised an eyebrow. “What exactly are you to me?” He clarified, “That’s not what I meant. You’re introducing me as a patient, and now everyone is giving me these… strange looks.”
“Strange?” Suzy shrugged. “Funny, I hadn’t noticed.”
He was speechless.
“And besides, aren’t you a patient?” She ignored his displeased
expression and added, Being sick isn’t shameful. Don’t worry, they won’t laugh at you!”
