“Suzy, if you dare jump, I’ll kill Dylan right here and now!” Claude shouted, pressing his gun against Dylan’s temple.
Seeing her freeze in place, he smirked darkly, his voice filled with bitterness. “Even now, all you care about is Dylan!”
From the beginning, her eyes had never left Dylan. They were filled with worry, her concern unmistakable.
They say comparisons steal joy, and in that moment, Claude finally grasped the vast gulf separating him from Dylan.
No matter how many times Suzy claimed she no longer loved Dylan, feelings like that couldn’t simply vanish. He had been her first love, the man who once owned her heart.
And despite everything Claude had done for her, she had only ever seen him as a brother. The more he thought about it, the more the bitterness ate away at him. His gaze softened, filled with sorrow as he looked at Suzy for what felt like a final goodbye.
“Suzy, I know you’ll never forgive me. And I never expected you to. But if this is the only way you’ll remember me… so be it.”
All his plans, his schemes–they had led to nothing. Hope had been extinguished, and with it, his resolve to take Dylan down with him only grew.
There was nothing left to say. Fixing his gaze on Suzy one last time, Claude tightened his grip on Dylan and began sinking deeper into the water.
In a matter of seconds, both men disappeared beneath the waves.
Victor and Graham arrived just in time to witness the harrowing scene.
The two men sprinted forward without hesitation, plunging into the water, shoes and all, moving so quickly no one could stop them.

Suzy furrowed her brows and jumped in after them.
Though the three entered the water just seconds apart, once they were submerged, Dylan and Claude were nowhere to be found.
Over the next few days, the group scoured every inch of the surrounding island but came up empty–handed.
“This doesn’t add up. We saw them go in together, but now there’s no sign of them–alive or dead. Something’s clearly off.”
He mulled over the situation, then added, “What if Claude had already set up some kind of mechanism under the river? Knowing how long he’s been working with Charlotte, they could’ve planned something clever enough to throw us off.”
Suzy shared the same concern. “Search the entire ocean. Don’t leave a single suspicious area unchecked.”
Two days and nights passed with nothing to show for it–just an ordinary sea with no hidden chambers or secret passages. The small island was encircled by water on all sides, yet the men were nowhere to be found.
Despite the lack of progress, Suzy refused to give up. She ordered another search of the entire island.
The results, as expected, were the same. They found nothing.
It was as if Dylan and Claude had vanished off the face of the earth.
The days dragged on, their unease growing with each passing moment. Worry gnawed at them, especially with Grace still waiting for an update. Yet, with nothing concrete to report, none of them knew how to break the news to her.
If Avalon was still alive, she might hold the key to uncovering what really happened.
