Hawk gave a helpless laugh. “Why else? Of course, it was to stop you from being with Dylan! The real question is why she’s so adamant about keeping you two apart. Does she have a grudge against the Wright family, or is she afraid that if you two end up together, it’ll be bad for her?”

and Charlotte.”

Suzy didn’t dwell on the truth or lies of his words any longer.
She had no desire to untangle the web of his claims because she was lying to him as well.
She only said she would date him to stop him from doing anything foolish again.

“And, didn’t you just say your business with Suzy has nothing to do with me?”
Hawk chuckled coldly and then, word by word, declared with weight in his tone, “She is my girlfriend now. You show up in the middle of the night looking for my girlfriend. Tell me, how is this not my business?”
This wasn’t the first time Hawk had claimed Suzy was his girlfriend, and Dylan assumed it was just more of the same nonsense.
With a mocking laugh, Dylan asked, “Did she agree to that?”
