“If you’re coming for my life, you’d better make sure you have what it takes to claim it!”
As Suzy snapped her fingers, the man’s expression immediately shifted to panic. “What are you doing?”
“What do you think?” Suzy smirked. “Surely you didn’t actually believe I came here alone, did you?”
She wasn’t afraid to die, but she wasn’t going to throw her life away either.
She hadn’t brought any weapons, but that didn’t mean she came unprepared.
In the distance, the low rumble of helicopter blades echoed louder and louder.
“Damn it!”
A man wearing a mask burst out of the cabin, holding a gun, and headed straight for Yara.
Seeing this, Suzy immediately rushed forward to stop him.
“Don’t move!” the man shouted, firing a shot that hit the railing near Yara. “Take one more step, and the next bullet won’t hit the railing–it’ll go straight through her skull.‘
“Suzy…”
Although the bullet didn’t hit her, Yara was terrified. Her already pale face drained of what little color was left.
Suzy froze in place and tried to calm Yara. “Don’t worry. I won’t let anything happen to you.”
The man chuckled darkly. “Miss Frost, your confidence is almost admirable.”
As he spoke, he reached Yara’s side, pressing the barrel of the gun directly against her temple. “Tell your people to leave, or I’ll blow her head off right now!”
Before Suzy could respond, a voice rang out from above. “Sorry to interrupt, I’m just passing through!”
The so–called passerby descended from the helicopter on a rope ladder, landing effortlessly on the deck.
It was none other than Dylan, who had barely stayed out of trouble for a few days.
Today, he was dressed in a tailored charcoal–gray suit, exuding a commanding presence that was almost otherworldly, like a god descending from the heavens.
Even though Suzy didn’t care for him, Dylan couldn’t bring himself to stay away from her as she wished.

Especially when it came to the theft of Charlotte’s remains–he couldn’t stand idly by and do nothing.
Dylan had been keeping a close watch on anything related to Suzy from the shadows.
When he learned that she was heading to this meeting alone for Yara’s sake, even though he knew she must have her own plans, he still made preparations for a rescue, just in case.
However, Suzy didn’t seem the least bit grateful for his arrival. “If you’re just passing by, then get lost. Don’t hang around and get in the way!”
It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate his help, she simply didn’t want him involved. After all, he had only recently recovered. If something happened to him again, Grace might not survive the ordeal.
Dylan was well aware that Suzy wouldn’t have anything kind to say, so he pretended not to hear her. “It seems like you’ve run into some trouble…”
Before he could finish, another helicopter appeared, hovering above the ship. The cabin door opened, revealing Hawk’s face–another person who gave Suzy endless headaches.
“Just happened to be passing by,” Hawk said, grinning. “Who would’ve thought I’d run into my Junior here? Gotta say, we’ve got quite the connection!”
Suzy’s mouth twitched.
The same excuse? Did these two coordinate this beforehand?
Allen still hadn’t shown up, likely intercepted by these two.
Damn these meddlesome men.
She didn’t need their interference; she could handle things just fine on her own.
The flimsy excuse fooled no one, especially not the man holding Yara hostage. He sneered, “So, you brought this many reinforcements, Suzy? Looks like you don’t actually care about Yara’s life after all. In that case, I’ll send her to reunite with her parents right now.”
Dylan’s voice cut through the air, ice–cold. “You dare threaten my wife? You must have a death wish, and I’ll be happy to grant it.”
Hawk followed with a menacing grin. “And you dare threaten my Junior? Looks like you’re tired of living.”
Before Suzy could respond, Dylan and Hawk sprang into action.
Moving with lightning speed, they closed in on the man from opposite sides,
As the saying goes, no one can fight off two skilled opponents at once.
Overwhelmed and outmatched, the man stood o chance and was swiftly taken down by
the pair.
