Chapter 0292
Chapter 0292
There was no denying that the poison was extremely potent, and whoever was behind it was ruthless.
Suzy frowned deeply as she examined Dylan’s weakened state. “Thank goodness Grandma isn’t here.”
If Grace saw him like this, she would be heartbroken. Suzy knew she had to get him back on his feet before Grace returned.
The toxins in his body hadn’t been fully eliminated, and finding an antidote was urgent. But to create one, she first needed to figure out exactly what poison he’d been given.
She combed through every medical book she had, yet none of them matched his symptoms.
It had to be a poison specifically engineered for Dylan. As for who was behind it…
Suzy had considered Hawk but eventually dismissed the thought.
Although Hawk didn’t get along with Dylan, he wouldn’t have attacked without reason, especially since the two hadn’t crossed paths recently. It was more likely one of Dylan’s old enemies.
After all, someone had tried to kill him three years ago, too.
Now that she thought about it, the two of them really shared a strange sort of fate–both had survived assassination attempts three years ago.
Lost in thought, she was startled when Dylan stirred and opened his eyes. “Suzy…”
Suzy stiffened. The way he said her name sounded strange and far too intimate. “You’d better call me by my last name.”
Dylan blinked, clearly caught off guard.
This woman wasn’t about to give him even an inch.
He sighed and said with sincerity, “I wouldn’t have made it without you today. If it weren’t for you, I’d probably….
“Don’t get the wrong idea.”
Suzy cut him off coldly. “I only saved you because of Grandma and Diana. If not for them, I wouldn’t bat an eye if you dropped dead in front of me.”
“Couldn’t you at least be a little nicer to someone who’s barely hanging on?” Dylan thought, feeling a pang of helplessness.
Ignoring the hurt that flickered in Dylan’s eyes, Suzy got straight to the point. “Dylan, you’ve been investigating your enemies for three years. What have you found?”
She figured she might be able to get some clues from him.

“Nothing…”
Before he could finish, Suzy cut him off with a sharp remark. “Three years, and you’ve found nothing? Seriously?”
Dylan didn’t reply, his silence spoke volumes.
Suzy couldn’t hold back a scoff. “No wonder Anne managed to fool you for three years. With intelligence like yours, it’s a miracle the Wright Corporation hasn’t gone under!” Dylan was left speechless, mostly because what she said wasn’t entirely wrong.
Seeing his silence, Suzy sneered. “What? Am I wrong? Anne’s pathetic acting wouldn’t have fooled anyone else for so long. Anyone with half a brain would have figured her out ages ago.”
Dylan stayed quiet, letting her vent.
When she finally paused, he spoke slowly. “You’re right. If I’d realized sooner, I would never have hurt you.”
“Enough,” Suzy snapped, cutting him off. “Focus on staying alive. Save your breath for something useful.
Dylan stared at her, exasperated. He had never met someone so utterly unromantic.
Shifting tactics, he spoke in a weak voice. “I don’t know who’s trying to kill me, but the other night, while I was sleeping, I had a faint feeling someone was in the room. The poison must have been administered then.”
“And what good does that do now? You didn’t catch them, so saying that is pointless.”
Dylan cleared his throat, struggling to remain composed. “We installed cameras around the house for Grandma’s safety. Maybe the footage captured something useful.”
“And you’re just mentioning this now?” Suzy huffed, immediately pulling out her laptop to access the security feed.
The miniature cameras had been cleverly hidden in inconspicuous spots, leaving the intruder unaware and unguarded.
On the screen, the figure’s face was heavily covered, but Suzy instantly recognized them.
