Ava shook her head. “I don’t have a smartphone.”
Suzy’s gaze darkened, and she asked another question. “At the village meeting, you knew we were looking for him. Why didn’t you say anything then?”
Ava glanced at Suzy before quickly lowering her head. “I didn’t know who you were at the time. I was afraid you might hurt him, so I kept quiet…”

Riley had already questioned Ava about these details, and her answers were the same. Even her expressions gave no indication of deceit.
So, Dylan really had lost his memory?
If he was faking it, he wouldn’t have behaved that way toward Grace and Diana.
Suzy thought back to when she had brought Dylan home. Grace and Diana had clung to him, crying on either side of him, but his face had been filled with unfamiliarity and impatience.
No matter how skilled someone was at acting, it was nearly impossible to fake the truth in their eyes. From beginning to end, Suzy hadn’t noticed anything suspicious in his gaze.
After numerous tests and observations, she finally accepted that Dylan truly had lost his
memory.
But so what? It had nothing to do with her anymore.
Looking at the clingy Dylan, Suzy didn’t hold back. “Dylan, even if we were married once, you and I are practically strangers now. If you want to regain your memory, there’s someone far more suitable to help you.

“Your first love, Anne Wheeler.”
Anne’s supposed status as Dylan’s first love might have been a lie, but the divorce was real, and so was Suzy’s indifference toward him now.
She would rather he go to Anne to sort things out.
After all, he had far more memories with Anne than with her, which should make his recovery easier.

“Grandma,” Suzy said calmly, “Anne might actually help him regain his memory.”
“If that’s the case, he’d be better off never remembering!” Grace’s face twisted in disgust at the mention of Anne.
With a sigh, she softened her tone. “You’re a miracle doctor, Suzy. Your skills are exceptional. Please, just for my sake, help him regain his memory, won’t you?”
“Grandma, please don’t say that…” Suzy could refuse anyone else, but not Grace.
She agreed reluctantly. “I’ll try my best.”
Despite her deep reluctance to interact with Dylan, Suzy couldn’t refuse Grace’s heartfelt plea. For Grace and Diana’s peace of mind, she reluctantly agreed to help.
Helping Dylan regain his memory wasn’t supposed to be difficult.
Hypnosis therapy was a common approach.
But it didn’t work. Not even a little.
She tried several times, but each attempt yielded the same result–nothing.

For a moment, she froze, caught off guard. Then she snapped back to reality and shoved him away forcefully. “What are you doing?”
Dylan, entirely unapologetic, replied with perfect confidence, “My brain told me to kiss you, so I did. I figure we must have done this often. Otherwise, why would I suddenly feel the urge to kiss you? And right now, it’s telling me to do it again.”
Before Suzy could react, he hooked an arm around her waist, pulling her back into his embrace. With no hesitation, he claimed her lips once more.
