Chapter 0280
“I’ve only met her twice, so I don’t know much about her,” Anne said, her words a mix of Truth and Hes.
It was true that she hadn’t interacted much with Charlotte. The lie was….
Even with limited interactions, she still had some understanding of Charlotte.
Someone capable of deceiving her own niece couldn’t possibly be a good person.
Dylan regarded Anne’s words with skepticisin. “Do you truly believe she only wanted to keep Suzy and me apart, with no ulterior motives?”
“There shouldn’t be any other motives…” Anne spoke, but her eyes avoided meeting Dylan’s. “After all, she’s Suzy’s aunt. How could she truly harm Suzy? She probably just thought you weren’t a good match and didn’t want Suzy to have any further ties with you.
a
Dylan glanced at Anne but didn’t pursue the topic further. “Do you still remember what the pendant looked like?”
Anne nodded. “I remember!”
“Draw it,” Dylan ordered.
Anne grabbed some paper and a pencil, then carefully sketched the pendant from memory. “This is what it looked like–a hawk–shaped design, crafted entirely from deep crimson gemstone. It seemed incredibly valuable!”
Dylan stared at the drawing, lost in thought.
Incredibly valuable….
This suggested that the woman who saved him wasn’t ordinary.
If she wasn’t just an ordinary person, she likely knew who he was. Yet, all these years had passed, and she’d never once come forward…
Was it because she didn’t want any ties to him, or was there another reason?
In a dimly lit room, Hawk toyed with a hawk–shaped crimson gemstone pendant in his
hand.
“If Dylan knew the person who saved him back then was Suzy, what do you think he would do?”
What do you
think?”
In the dark corner of the room, a figure lurked in the shadows, their presence almost

ghostly as a cold, eerie voice echoed, “If that’s truly the case, no one will be able to stop him from winning Suzy back, not even Suzy herself.”
A low chuckle escaped Hawk. “Too bad he won’t get the chance.”
If it weren’t for secretly monitoring Anne, they would never have discovered that Suzy had lost her hawk–shaped crimson gemstone pendant during her night with Dylan three years
ago.
It was only by knowing this that they were able to get their hands on it before Dylan did.
Otherwise…
Thinking of Dylan, Hawk’s eyes narrowed slightly. “I had hoped to take the opportunity to eliminate him, but I didn’t expect Suzy to have been playing along with the plan all along She seems to trust Dylan deeply!”
Despite Dylan’s immense betrayal and hurt, why did Suzy still have unwavering faith in him?
“Exactly. We tried everything from convincing her that Dylan was sneaking around with Mark to blaming him for everything, but no matter how careful we were, she still saw through it.”
The voice from the shadows carried clear frustration. “She claims she doesn’t love him anymore, but her trust in him says otherwise. The more I think about it, the more I’m convinced there’s only one possibility…
Their voice dropped to a menacing whisper. “She’s never let him go. That’s why Dylan can’t be allowed to live. If those two join forces, there’ll be nowhere left for us to hide.”
Hawk’s gaze on the pendant deepened. “What’s your plan?”
“Taking him down won’t be easy. After all, he has the entire Yellowtail Squadron behind
him.”
Hawk’s lips curled into a more mocking smirk. “So what? If he dares to fight me for Suzy, he must die!”
