Dylan agreed to Julian’s request. “Fine.”
Julian licked his lips nervously. “Someone approached me and said that if I made a move against Suzy, they’d help me take back Harlow Corporation…”
“Who?” Dylan interrupted impatiently, unwilling to listen to unnecessary details. All he cared about was finding out who was helping Anne.
“It’s-“Julian managed just one word before he suddenly choked, a sharp pain radiating through his throat. It felt as though something had lodged inside, suffocating him. He clawed at his neck, but no sound came out.
Matthew rushed to his son’s side, his face pale with worry. “What’s happening? Are you alright?“,
Julian couldn’t answer. He kept clutching his throat, his panic rising as his airways closed. His face turned a deep, unnatural red before, moments later, he collapsed, lifeless.
“Julian!” Matthew’s voice cracked as he cried out, tears streaming down his face. He called his son’s name over and over, but there was no response.
The sudden and horrifying death left Matthew trembling with fear. Faced with Dylan’s cold interrogation, he didn’t dare utter a single word.
Even when Dylan threatened his life, Matthew remained silent. He was gambling on the chance that Dylan wouldn’t kill him without getting what he wanted. But if he revealed the truth, his fate would undoubtedly mirror Julian’s.
Though frustrated, Dylan didn’t push further. He had noticed the symptoms–Julian’s death was clearly caused by poison. If he could determine what poison it was, he might uncover a lead.
Two days later, the results came in.
“Throat Sealer.”
The name of the toxin immediately rang alarm bells in Dylan’s mind. Suzy, being a renowned miracle doctor, would undoubtedly know its origins.
His first instinct was to call her, but after a moment of hesitation, he stopped.
Suzy probably wouldn’t answer his call.
Instead, he sent her the information anonymously.
Meanwhile, Suzy was busy working on documents when an email notification popped up on her computer screen. Just as she was about to open it, the screen suddenly went black.

Suzy immediately realized what had happened and quickly began tracking and decoding the intrusion. Within moments, her computer was back to normal but the email had vanished. It was completely gone as if it had never existed.
What could have been in that email to make someone go to such lengths to erase it?
Just as Suzy was about to search for traces of the missing file, there was a knock on her door.
“Miss, your aunt is asking for you,” a maid called out.
Glancing at the screen, Suzy sighed and stood up, leaving the study to head upstairs.
“Aunt, why are you looking for me so urgently this late at night?” Suzy asked as she entered the room and sat down by the bed.
Charlotte coughed lightly before speaking. “You know it’s late? What time do you think it is? And you’re still holed up in the study working?”
“Just finishing up some documents,” Suzy replied, tucking the blanket around her aunt. Besides, you’re not asleep either, so you’ve got no room to lecture me.”
Charlotte chuckled softly, though her voice was weak. “I spend all day in bed–I can sleep whenever I want. But you’ve been working all day long…”
Her words trailed off as her sharp eyes caught sight of Suzy’s wrist. When Suzy adjusted the blanket, a faint injury was exposed. Charlotte grabbed her hand, her expression stem. What’s this?”
“It’s nothing,” Suzy replied lightly. “Just a small accident.”
“You don’t make careless mistakes like that,” Charlotte said firmly, clearly not buying it. Tell me the truth!”
After a brief hesitation, Suzy relented and recounted everything that had happened earlier in the day.
