“Is Anne behind all of this? And how is she connected to Lisa?”
With so many questions in mind, Suzy decided to confront Anne for answers.
Initially, Suzy planned to go alone, but Allen insisted on accompanying her, and even Charlotte joined them.
“You almost got into serious trouble this time. I need to personally ask Lisa why she betrayed you,” Charlotte said angrily.
“And that Anne,” Charlotte continued, her voice rising with fury, “Does she really think she can do whatever she pleases just because she has the Wright family backing her?”
Allen’s anger flared. “Ms. Charlotte’s absolutely right. Anne’s little schemes have been stacking up, but this time she’s gone too far. No surprise there–like mother, like daughter. She’s just as conniving as Helena ever was.”
Years ago, Helena had tried to kill him and his mother by setting a fire. Now Anne had the audacity to use the same ruthless tactic–it was proof enough that the apple didn’t fall far
from the tree.
The more Allen dwelled on it, the more his anger simmered. “This time, I’ll settle every score–old and new–with her once and for all!”
At the villa where Anne was staying.
Anne stared at the woman who had barged in, her expression darkening.
“Who are you?” she asked for the third time.
No matter how many times she asked, the woman sitting on the sofa ignored her, idly playing on her phone as though she hadn’t heard a thing.
Anne’s patience wore thin. “Not talking? Fine, I’m calling the police!”
She reached for her phone with the intention to make the call, but at the last second, she changed her mind and called Dylan instead.
To her surprise, he answered after just one ring.
She hurriedly said, “Mr. Dylan, help! A woman has broken into my place…”
Before she could finish, as if to confirm her claim, the door was kicked open with a deafening bang.
“‘“Ah!” Anne shrieked, jumping at the sheer force of the impact. Her eyes shot up, only to meet Suzy’s razor–sharp gaze.

From the moment Anne learned Suzy was still alive, she had been living in dread of this
very moment.
She kept telling herself that she had done everything so discreetly that no matter how resourceful Suzy was, she wouldn’t be able to trace anything back to her.
But to her shock, it had taken Suzy only a few days to find her.
At that moment, Suzy seemed like a demon straight out of hell, coming to claim Anne’s soul. The memory of being locked in the basement, rats crawling over her skin at Suzy’s command, flashed through Anne’s mind like a waking nightmare.
Months had passed, yet the sensation of rats crawling over her skin was something Anne could never forget.
She didn’t even dare to imagine how Suzy might exact her revenge this time.
As Suzy closed the distance between them, Anne’s body shook uncontrollably. Panic surged through her as she blurted into the phone, “Mr. Dylan, Suzy’s here–she just showed up out of nowhere. I don’t know why, but she looks furious. I swear I haven’t done anything lately to upset her…”
After saying all she needed to, Anne hung up without hesitation.
She was almost certain Dylan would come–not to save her, but because Suzy was there.
Thinking about how much Dylan cared for Suzy these days filled Anne with another wave of bitterness.
As Suzy closed the distance, stopping just a step away, Anne’s emotions swung wildly between fear and hatred.
How was her life so resilient? Even a fire that intense hadn’t managed to kill her!
The nearer Suzy came, the more violently Anne trembled. She didn’t want to, but her body refused to obey her will.
Suzy stopped in front of Anne, a faint smile curling her lips. “It’s so warm in here. Why are you shivering?”
She leaned in closer, her voice dropping. “You’re not scared of me, are you? I’m a living being, not some ghost. What’s there to be afraid of? Unless, of course, you’ve done something to hurt me, and now you’re terrified I’ve come to make you pay.”
