Thinking about the elusive connection between Dylan and Mark, Suzy wondered if the Yellowtail Squadron had played a role in it.
With that thought, she opened a new website and began investigating Dylan’s personal information.
She had already looked into him three years ago when they were set to marry. At the time, he appeared to be nothing more than the president of the Wright Corporation, with no other identities.
Back then, she had naively assumed that was all there was to him. But now, it seemed likely he was hiding something far more significant.
Just like before, his personal records showed nothing out of the ordinary. Everything appeared clean and spotless. There wasn’t even the slightest trace connecting him to the Yellowtail Squadron or the Goodwin family.
It was clear that traditional methods wouldn’t uncover anything. She would need another
approach.
Suzy decided to call Victor. As Dylan’s closest friend, he might know things no one else did.
However, the phone kept ringing without an answer. She called several times, but it was the same each time.
After a moment’s thought, Suzy grabbed her car keys and left the office.
Victor actually wanted to take Suzy’s call, but Nadia wasn’t giving him the chance.
At that moment, Victor found himself pinned beneath Nadia in an utterly humiliating position.
“Nadia, you’re not even a woman—”
“You’ll find out soon enough whether I am or not!” Nadia smirked, holding him down with one hand while trying to unbutton his shirt with the other. “You hate me, right? Then I’ll make you hate me even more!”
As her hand reached for his clothes, Victor’s glare turned even colder. “Nadia, if you dare lay a finger on me, I’ll make sure you regret it for the rest of your life.”
“Looking forward to it!” Nadia grinned like a rogue. “The longer, the better!”
“You-!” Victor was seething. “I don’t love you! Instead of wasting your time on me, go find a man who can actually love you! Are you really going to throw your whole life away for this?”

“Yes!” Nadia grabbed his jaw, forcing him to look at her. “You don’t love me, and I don’t love you. So, let’s not ruin anyone else’s life. We’ll just be each other’s curse–forever.”
Victor opened his mouth to argue, but Nadia didn’t give him the chance. She leaned down and captured his lips in a forceful kiss.
“Mm–mmph!”
Victor was stunned. He hadn’t expected her to actually do it.
The realization of what might happen next only made his expression darker.
It was usually men overpowering women, but if Nadia succeeded, Victor might as well dig a hole and bury himself out of humiliation.
The problem was, he couldn’t match her strength.
Just as Victor was seething with frustration, Suzy suddenly appeared.
“Uh, sorry, I didn’t realize you two were busy. Carry on, and pretend I was never here.”
She’d noticed the door was open and decided to walk in, never expecting to stumble upon such a scandalous scene.
Honestly, it was the middle of the day. No matter how desperate they were, could they not at least close the door first?
As she reached the doorway and prepared to helpfully close it behind her, Victor called out,
“Wait!”
“Don’t tell me you enjoy having an audience,” Suzy teased, smirking. “If that’s your thing, you’ll have to find someone else I’m not into that.”

“Who said anything about an audience?” Victor snapped. “I want you to get this crazy woman off me!”
Suzy’s eyes glimmered with amusement. “And why would I help you?”
“What do
you want?”
“Can I ask for whatever I want?”
“Yes!”
“Deal.”
Suzy walked over to Nadia, leaned in, and whispered something into her ear.
Whatever it was, it had an instant effect.
Nadia released Victor, adjusted her clothes, and left without another word.
