Chapter 0202
Recalling his past actions, Dylan let out a bitter laugh, his gaze on Anne filled with utter contempt. “Get out!”
Anne scrambled to her feet, stumbling toward the door. Just as she reached it, she turned back to him. “Mr. Dylan, I won’t say a word about this, especially to Suzy. You don’t have to worry.”
Not that she needed to–someone else would make sure Suzy found out anyway.
The fear in her eyes flickered into something dark and cunning as she left.
Once she was gone, Dylan headed to the bathroom and scrubbed himself from head to toe, over and over, still feeling tainted. The thought of what had happened with Anne made him want to throttle himself. He felt he had betrayed Suzy and let her down.
With growing frustration, he slammed his fist into the bathroom mirror, shattering it. Watching blood trickle down his hand, he felt a strange, brief sense of relief.
But that relief was short–lived. No sooner had he left the bathroom than Desmond’s call
shattered any calm he had managed to find.
“Sir, you and Miss Anne are trending.”
Dylan hung up and clicked on the topics Desmond had forwarded, with hashtags reading,” Mr. Wright’s Mystery Woman Turns Out to Be Anne Wheeler,” and “Dylan Wright and Anne Wheeler–Wedding Bells Soon?”
Headlines filled with all manner of bold captions dominated the top trending list, and five of the top ten were about him and Anne. One even showed Anne leaving Bayview Heights.
This was no coincidence.
He called Desmond back. “Bury it!”
Desmond replied, “We’ve already engaged PR, but someone’s actively working against us -it’s not coming down.”
Dylan’s brows knit in frustration. “Do whatever it takes!”
Suzy couldn’t see this; it would only make her hate him more.
With rumors flying everywhere, there was no way Suzy could avoid seeing them. Practically the moment they went viral, she stumbled across the headlines.
To her, it was just another piece of internet gossip. Whatever went on between Dylan and Anne was their business, and it had nothing to do with her.

Still… she couldn’t deny it was revolting.
Just yesterday, he had confessed to her, and today he was off with Anne. She couldn’t think of anyone more repulsive.
Suzy found herself questioning, for the Nth time, “How could my judgment have been this poor?”
Thankfully, she didn’t love him anymore.
Deciding not to waste another thought on it, Suzy finished her breakfast and headed to Harlow Corporation.
The moment she entered her office, she saw someone seated in her executive chair–Hawk.
For a brief instant, she almost mistook him for Claude, especially since he’d deliberately dressed in a way that resembled him. But she quickly snapped out of it, her expression unreadable as she walked to her desk. “If you have something to say, say it. If not, get lost.”
After disappearing for days, he wouldn’t show up without a reason.
Unfazed by her bluntness, Hawk smiled. “Why the anger so early, Junior? Trouble sleeping,
or…”
He paused for effect. “Perhaps… someone’s scandal upset you?”
Suzy’s gaze narrowed. “So, it was you who dared to set Dylan up. I should have guessed.”
Hawk shrugged. “You’re accusing me unfairly, Junior. I had nothing to do with it. I’m here because I have something to discuss with you.
Suzy was hardly interested in the truth behind his words. “Sorry, I don’t have time to listen.”
Hawk’s smile didn’t falter. “In that case, I’ll take your silence as agreement. Starting today, I’ll officially be joining Harlow Corporation.”
