Following the lead, Allen spent nearly two days investigating before finally making some headway. He placed the results on Suzy’s desk. “Boss, I tracked down that serial number.”
Suzy set down her pen, opened the folder, and her eyes narrowed sharply when she saw the heading: Yellowtail Squadron. “Are you certain this information is accurate?”
“I’ve double–checked. It’s confirmed,” Allen replied, still surprised by the outcome. “The Yellowtail Squadron is state–affiliated and has no connection to Hawk.”
At first, Állen had suspected Hawk too.
Despite recent investigations showing no links between Hawk and the killer from over twenty years ago, Allen couldn’t shake the feeling that Hawk was far from simple- especially after learning he was Claude’s twin brother. The man was an enigma, deep and unreadable, like a puzzle wrapped in shadows.
Suzy went over the report again, from beginning to end. This outcome was truly unexpected. If the findings were accurate, it suggested that the killer from back then could very well be tied to this organization. Otherwise, why would they target her so suddenly? Surely the government didn’t simply have a grudge against her.
Her gaze sharpened.
“Keep this between us,” she instructed Allen.
He nodded, grasping the gravity of the situation. “Got it. This is serious.”
The implications of this were massive.
Allen himself had been taken aback when he saw the results. After investigating for so long, they had thought the Frost family’s feud was nothing more than a personal vendetta. Now, an entire military organization had entered the picture…
Allen didn’t dare think further. If there really was a connection, then how would Suzy get her revenge? She couldn’t exactly go up against the entire nation.
Seeing Allen’s complex expression as he stared at her, Suzy pressed her lips together. ” Keep digging. Find out who’s in charge behind the scenes.”
“Yes, I’ve already instructed someone to continue digging,” Allen replied, his express. growing even more serious. “No wonder that group mentioned the Goodwin family three years ago. It seems the fish lurking behind them is even larger than we thought.”

Suzy’s gaze returned to the report, her eyes locked onto the words “Yellowtail Squadron”
until her vision blurred.
Finally, she looked up. “You can go now.”
Once Allen left, Suzy rose and moved to the floor–to–ceiling window. She gazed out through the vast glass, her eyes set on the Frost family estate in the distance. If this really involved the Yellowtail Squadron, how would she avenge her family?
The blood feud that ran so deep was something she could never forget. But if the mastermind behind it was so powerful that she couldn’t touch them…
For a brief moment, Suzy felt a wave of uncertainty.
Pressing her fingers to her temples, she returned to her desk and began researching the Yellowtail Squadron. Although she had some knowledge about the organization, it was limited to publicly available information. She had no idea who was in charge of it.
After all, as a state–affiliated group, they’d never crossed paths before, so she hadn’t thought to dig deeper into them. But now, it seemed she had no choice but to understand them thoroughly.
