With that, she cocked the gun, her other hand slipping discreetly toward her waist. Though she still stood some distance from Diana’s cabin, a gunshot would surely echo that far. She had no intention of letting things escalate to open fire.
She quickly withdrew a set of silver needles, hurling them toward the black–clad men with surgical precision. In a heartbeat, several were hit. Though the needles weren’t coated with poison, she struck each of their pressure points, rendering them immobile.
The others showed no fear, especially the man she held hostage. “Impressive, Miss Frost,” he said smoothly. Then he turned to his team.
“Miss Frost has already made her move. Are you planning on surrendering?”
At his command, the remaining men loaded their guns.
Suzy had identified him as their leader right from the start. His quiet confidence and the way he answered while the others stayed silent had made it clear. She’d set the trap, and he’d walked right into it.
Suzy’s gaze remained steely as she assessed the black–clad men, their cold eyes fixed on her, lethal intent barely concealed.
Without a hint of fear, she yanked her captive forward, using him as a shield. “I gave you chance. Since you didn’t take it, let’s finish this.”

Watching his team fall, the leader showed no hint of panic.
He smirked, “Looks like we underestimated you, Miss Frost. In hindsight, perhaps we shouldn’t have wasted time with pleasantries.
Suzy laughed, a dark edge to her voice. “Well, hindsight won’t save you. The world doesn’t leave room for regret.”
He sneered back. “Why don’t you go check on Miss Diana?”
Suzy’s expression turned grim. “What did you do to her?”
“If you want to know,” he taunted, “see for yourself.”
Ignoring his arrogance, Suzy immobilized him with a sharp twist to his pressure point before rushing into the cabin.
Inside, she found Diana, her shoulders gripped tightly by two men, forcing her to kneel like a captured criminal.
Her eyes were closed–she appeared unconscious, likely drugged.
Perhaps, Suzy thought bitterly, the sedative was a small mercy, sparing her from fear. Bringing Diana here to help her heal had only placed her in more danger.
Anger seared through Suzy, her gaze hardening as she faced the two men restraining Diana. “Let her go!”
A mocking voice sounded from behind her. “She’s our leverage, Miss Frost. You know we can’t just hand her over.”
