To be honest, Suzy felt a bit uncomfortable. Getting caught red–handed was awkward, but she didn’t let it show for more than a moment. She quickly brushed it off and said, “If you weren’t Diana’s brother, I wouldn’t care about what happens to you.”
Dylan raised an eyebrow, not buying it. “Suzy, stop fooling yourself.”
“The only one fooling himself here is you,” she replied, her tone laced with open scorn. “If you want someone to notice you, go find Anne. Don’t waste your time here.”
Hearing her mention Anne again, Dylan’s jaw tightened. He’d never been one to explain himself, not to Suzy, nor to anyone else. He preferred showing things through actions. Yet, despite everything he’d done, it seemed she hadn’t noticed a thing.

Before he could finish, his phone rang. His expression changed instantly, and he quickly pulled his hand back from the doorframe, urgency clear in his every movement.
The ringtone was unmistakable–Suzy had heard it for three years and didn’t need him to answer to know who was calling. In her mind, there was only one person in the world who could make him drop everything: Anne.
Expressionless, she pulled her gaze back, shut the door, and left it at that.

After receiving the butler’s call, Dylan rushed back as quickly as possible. He’d set a distinct ringtone just for the butler, ensuring he’d never miss a call from him.
Yet Suzy had always assumed that ringtone was for Anne. She had good reason to believe it -on the second day of their marriage, he’d answered a call with that ringtone and left in a hurry.
She was worried and secretly followed him.
It was on that day that she discovered Anne’s existence.
It turned out his reluctance to marry her had never been for the reasons she’d assumed. He already had a woman he loved deeply. From that day on, every time she heard that distinctive ringtone, Suzy automatically associated it with Anne.
Dylan, of course, had no idea. If he had known, he would have never left so abruptly tonight without a word of explanation.

As Grace’s health became increasingly fragile with age, Dylan had instructed the butler to check on her every night and alert him at the first sign of trouble.
Feeling her forehead, Dylan could tell her fever was indeed severe. Turning to the family doctor, he asked, “What caused this?”
“Just a common cold, sir. There’s no need to worry,” the doctor assured him respectfully.
Despite the reassurance, Dylan stayed by Grace’s side the entire night. Even as her condition improved the next day, he didn’t leave her for a moment, taking care of her personally.
Throughout all this, he didn’t visit the Harlow estate or even call. He trusted Suzy completely with Diana’s care.
But in Suzy’s mind, his absence only confirmed what she thought she knew: that his heart was with Anne, and he cared little for Diana’s well–being.
