“For her, you and Dylan mean the world–especially you. When your parents passed, you were just a child, and she poured her heart into raising you. She once told me she kept you close, no matter how busy she was, bringing you to work with her if she had to.
“She lost her husband in middle age and her son later in life… If anything happens to you, she won’t be able to bear it. If you don’t want her to worry, you need to wake up now!”
Suzy kept talking, urging her to respond, but there was no reaction from Diana, not even the faintest sign.
“Wake up, Diana…” Suzy refused to give up. “If you don’t wake up right now, I’ll call Grandma this instant!”
No matter what Suzy said, Diana’s condition remained unchanged.
The three minutes were almost up. If Diana didn’t wake soon, there would be nothing left…

Dylan entered immediately, and as he approached the bed, Suzy grabbed his arm and, without hesitation, declared, “If you wake up, Diana, I’ll remarry your brother!”
Dylan was left speechless.
Ignoring Dylan’s startled look, Suzy leaned in closer to Diana, speaking firmly. “Diana Wright, you have exactly three seconds. If you wake up in three seconds, I’ll keep my mise. If not… then I guess your brother and I are destined to be enemies for life”
Suzy fixed her gaze on Diana, counting silently in her mind.
