Seeing that Diana had set her phone’s passcode to Suzy’s birthday, Suzy felt a bittersweet warmth. Though people often joked about in–laws being natural rivals, Diana had always treated her with genuine kindness.
Pushing aside her emotions, Suzy began combing through the phone. If there was
something valuable, it would likely be saved in a document.
However, aside from study materials, there didn’t seem to be anything unusual. So why had someone gone to such lengths to retrieve this phone?
The answer had to be hidden within.
Thinking this over, Suzy opened the photo gallery.
Just as she did, the screen abruptly went dark.
The phone had 43% battery when she turned it on, so it couldn’t have run out of power that quickly. There was only one explanation–it had been hacked.
Her pursuers were monitoring her movements closely, timing everything to perfection.
A steely glint appeared in her eyes as she spoke into the empty hallway, her voice cold and resolute. “If I’m your target, come face me. I’ll be ready for you.
Her voice echoed through the stillness, carrying an edge that left a lingering chill in the air.
With that, Suzy pocketed the phone and left.
Once she disappeared down the hall, a figure emerged from the shadows at the far end–a man cloaked in black, wearing a mask and dark glasses. He stood like a silent ghost, watching the direction she had gone, an unsettling gleam in his hidden eyes.
Instead of heading back to the Harlow estate,
Suzy went to Hillside Villa. She went straight
to the study and set to work on restoring the phone’s data.
As she hacked her way through the opposing code, she felt a strange sense of familiarity. Tracking each line, she finally managed to break through the layers of encryption until the ID came into view.
Her eyes narrowed with dangerous recognition
“Hawk.”
There was no doubt. The mastermind behind this was Hawk himself.

She traced his ID, following the trail to other pieces of information until she finally uncovered his phone number.
Without a second’s hesitation, she called him.
It was as if he had been waiting for her call. The line barely rang twice before his smooth, faintly mocking voice came through. “Junior, your skills have certainly improved.”
Suzy didn’t bother with pleasantries. “Have I done something to upset you, Senior?”
He let out a low chuckle. “What makes you think that?”
She gave a humorless laugh. “I thought perhaps I’d unknowingly offended you, to the point you’d join forces with others against me.
There was a pause on his end. “Are you referring to Diana Wright?”
“So it was you after all?”
“Yes.”
Suzy took a deep breath. “Why?”
“Because Dylan killed Claude,” Hawk’s tone grew colder. “Claude saved my life once. I owe
him.”
