With a newfound respect, Victor looked at her differently. “Who are you, really?”
Suzy gave him a casual glance. “Dylan’s ex–wife, CEO of Harlow Corporation, the Goodwin family’s goddaughter. Detailed enough?“–
“You know that’s not what I’m asking,” Victor replied, his dark eyes narrowing “What’s your real motive for staying by Dylan’s side for three years?”
Suzy couldn’t be bothered to entertain his theories and tossed back a casual answer, Obviously, for the money.”
He stared at her, stunned.
She’d admitted it so openly? Wasn’t she worried he’d go straight to Dylan?
But Suzy read him like a book. “You’re welcome to call him right now.”
“You’re not afraid?”
This was Dylan Wright they were talking about Victor’s closest friend and someone he himself feared at times. How was she so fearless? Did she really think her connections with the Goodwin and Harlow families would keep her safe? They were no threat to Dylan.
Ignoring his reaction, Suzy pulled out her laptop and powered it up, right in front of him.
Victor’s curiosity burned with more questions, especially why she was here at all. But every question faded as he watched her work, mesmerized by her skill.
Her fingers flew over the compact keyboard, lines of green code flashing across the screen at an impressive speed. Victor knew enough about computers to recognize what she was doing. She wasn’t just competent–she was a hacker of the highest caliber.
She wasn’t just skilled in combat; her hacking abilities were top–notch too.
So, all that intel T had given Dylan about Suzy was a lie. She was anything but ordinary.
But why had T deceived them? And to take two billion for a fabricated report–did she have any professional ethics left?
The more Victor thought about it, the angrier he got. He quietly pulled out his phone to send a message to T, but just as he hit send, Suzy’s phone pinged.

He stared at her, dumbfounded, especially when Suzy glanced up, visibly irritated. “Stop pestering me. Can’t you see I’m busy?”
Victor was thoroughly shaken. “Don’t tell me… you’re the legendary T?”
Suzy just shot him a look before turning back to her work. The dashcam had indeed been tampered with, and though she could recover some of the data, it would take time. She restored part of it and copied the rest to her device for later.
Once she finished, Suzy packed up and approached Victor. “Go ahead and tell Dylan whatever you want. As for the consequences…” She left the rest unsaid, giving him a sly smile.
If he hadn’t discovered her identity as T, Victor would’ve laughed off her threats. But now… T was known for being ruthless, with a reputation for holding grudges.
Yet, as much as he felt the weight of her unspoken warning, loyalty tugged at him. He and Dylan had been close since childhood–keeping this from him felt wrong.
After a long moment of hesitation, Victor finally made up his mind to tell Dylan.
No matter how ruthless she was, she wouldn’t actually harm him, right?
They had years of shared history, after all.
