Hearing the strain in Allen’s voice, Suzy quickly asked, “What happened to Diana?” “There was a car accident. She’s in critical condition.”
A car accident, critical condition…
Those words echoed in Suzy’s mind, drowning out everything else. She recalled the two calls from Diana she’d ignored earlier–she might have been calling for help. The thought hit her like a knife to the chest.
Her fingers tightened around the phone. “An accident, or…?”
“It doesn’t look like an accident,” Allen replied, his voice grave. “It happened in a stretch without any surveillance, and the car’s dashcam didn’t capture anything unusual.”
Suzy’s grip tightened further. “Which hospital?”
“Wright General Hospital.”
Without wasting a second, Suzy sped to the hospital where Diana had been admitted. Keeping to the shadows, she observed the scene near the emergency room.
Dylan stood outside, his expression tense.
Desmond and Victor were also present.
There was no sign of Grace–likely because Dylan had kept the news from her, fearing the impact on her health.
Suzy stayed hidden, watching silently until a doctor emerged from the operating room.
“Mr. Wright…” The doctor approached Dylan respectfully. “I’m sorry. We’ve done everything we could.”
Victor was the first to lose control, grabbing the doctor by the collar. “What do you mean, everything you could‘? Aren’t you supposed to be the country’s top neurologist? We’re not paying you a fortune to hear that you couldn’t save her! If Diana doesn’t make it, forget Dylan–I won’t let you off!”
“Mr. Steele, I wanted to save her too, but the injuries are simply too severe. Not even the miracle doctor, Red Falcon, could guarantee success in this case.‘
At the mention of Red Falcon, a flash of hope appeared in Dylan’s eyes.
He turned to Desmond. “Get Red Falcon on the phone.”
Desmond quickly dialed, but the line rang without an answer.

Watching Allen’s phone screen flash with unanswered calls, Suzy clenched her fists tightly.
If she hadn’t gone through the trauma of Claude’s death herself, she would have willingly stepped in to operate on Diana.

The memory of Claude taking his last breath in front of her was still painfully vivid.
She feared that Diana might end up just like him.
Yes, she was afraid.

Suddenly, a panicked nurse rushed out of the operating room. “The patient’s heart has stopped–she’s in cardiac arrest!”
Without hesitation, Suzy turned to Allen. “Answer it.”
