That was true; anyone might betray her, but Charlotte never would.

Charlotte stepped forward, gently ruffling Suzy’s hair as she had when they were young. Poor girl, you’ve been hurt so much that you don’t trust anyone anymore. And I blame myself for that for not protecting you better, especially lately.
