If her phone wasn’t dead or her foot wasn’t throbbing, Suzy would have snapped back at Dylan with a “Who needs it anyway!”
But she couldn’t snap at him because her phone was indeed dead, and her foot still hurt.
In the end, she just pulled her hand away and shot Dylan an icy glare, saying nothing.
As usual, he directed her to the passenger seat.
Not wanting to speak to him—and frankly, having nothing to say–Suzy closed her eyes the moment she got in. At first, she was only pretending to rest, but before long, she actually drifted off.

“Awake?” he replied, dodging her question.
She scowled, unwilling to waste words. Suzy tried to wriggle out of his arms, but he only tightened his grip, a hint of irritation in his voice. “Don’t move.”
“This guy’s getting worse,” she thought, baffled by his stubbornness.
Out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly noticed she was in the Wright family estate.
When she’d first opened her eyes and saw it was Dylan, she had lowered her guard, assuming there was no threat, so she hadn’t even paid attention to their surroundings.
Now, her brows knitted in a deep frown.
When did she start trusting Dylan so easily?
Snapping back to the present, she lowered her voice. “Don’t tell me you forgot the way to the Harlow estate?”
Dylan just looked at her, his gaze deep and unreadable.
When he remained silent, Suzy snapped, “What are you staring at? Put me down already!”
At this hour, Grace was surely asleep, and she didn’t want to disturb her.
Besides… she had other matters to to.
But the stubborn man showed no sign of setting her down. The main house was in sight now, and if they went inside and woke up Grace, she’d have an even harder time getting away.

She turned toward the voice, only to see Diana standing a short distance behind them, and Suzy’s heart sank.
There was no way out now.
“It really is you! I thought my brother ignored Grandma’s objections and brought that Anne back, but it’s you instead!” Diana’s excitement was plain on her face.
Dylan was speechless.
Without missing a beat, Diana burst out, “I’ll go get Grandma! She’ll be
you!”

“Diana…” Suzy barely got the word out before Diana had already dashed ahead.
Suzy let out a frustrated sigh and glared at Dylan. “Dylan, what exactly are you trying to pull?”
Meeting her annoyed gaze, Dylan’s lips curved slightly. “Grandma missed you.”
“Then at least discuss it with me first.”
“Would you have agreed?”
Suzy choked on her words, frowning. “How would you know I’d disagree if you didn’t ask?”
His brow lifted, a mischievous glint in his eyes. “So… does that mean you agree?”
Suzy took a deep breath and muttered, “Fine. But you’d better keep holding me like this in front of your grandma. If she gets the wrong idea, she might push you to marry me again.”
“Would you be willing…?”
“Suzy…”
His words mingled with Grace’s voice as she approached with Diana’s support, making it impossible for Suzy to catch what he’d said. She seized the opportunity to slip out of his arms as he loosened his grip.
“Grandma…” Suzy moved toward Grace.
Just as Diana had said, Grace’s face lit up with joy at the sight of her. Her first words were, Suzy, now that you’re here, stay for a few days and keep me company.”
