“Well, fine, perfect!” Suzy poluted at Dylan, her eyes blazing. “Dylan Wright, I’ll remember this!”
It was only eight klometers; if she could make here, she could make it back. Who cared about that stupid car anyway? She didn’t need it.
Seeing her storm off, muttering curses under her breath, Dylan’s lips curved into a quiet smirk.
As if things couldn’t get worse, fate decided to throw her another setback. Just as she stomped along, Suzy missed a step and twisted her ankle. Although she quickly set it back in place with a practiced adjustment, the pain still throbbed.
No matter. The road was hers, and she’d walk it–even if it hurt.
