Chapter 22
The slap echoed through the courtyard.
My cheek stung, but the parents‘ jeers hurt worse.
“Playing innocent now? You should hang yourself in shame when it comes to seducing someone’s
alpha.”
“Bet she’s got a whole list of rich werewolf alpha on speed dial”
“Women like her are the worst. And that poor kid’s going to grow up just like mommy.”
More parents gathered around, Mind–Link Crystals out, filming everything. Some even spat in my
direction.
“We’re live with this woman’s vomit–inducing behavior.”
Soon those women on the sidelines had opened the live broadcast software, interacting with the
people in the live broadcast room to mock me and abuse me.
I think those women’s behavior is too ridiculous, because they use the live broadcast software
production company are my family investment participation.
I took off my handmade coat by a royal tailor – worth more than their monthly mortgages – and dropped it in a nearby trash can.
Then I turned to Ashley.
“First you let your son attack my daughter’s tail while slandering her as an illegitimate child; now you disrespect me in public and punch me in the face. How dare you? Where do you get the nerve?”
Ashley tossed her hair back. “A Luna has every right to slap her Alpha’s mistress.”
She smirked. “I’m Steele Pack’s Luna. According to the ancient custom of the werewolves, I could do way worse to you and that brat of yours, and no one would dare say a word.”
The crowd ate it up.

“If you hadn’t chased after her Alpha, none of this would’ve happened.”
“You’re just a homewrecker. Keep your head down and be grateful that’s all you got.”
“Yeah, drop the victim act. We see right through you.”
Their words just made Ashley bolder.
She glared at my car. “Look at you, spending my Alpha’s money! A Rolls–Royce? You’re nothing but a gold–digger.”
Her voice turned ugly. “I hate women like you. You all deserve to die!”
She pulled out her keys and scratched some words across my car:
“The bitch who seducing the alpha!”
I stared at the jagged letters. “You’ll regret those words soon enough.”
That set her off.
“Living off my Alpha’s money and acting all high and mighty?” She grabbed a brick from the garden. “Time to pay it all back!”
She smashed every inch of my car. Windows. Lights. Hood. Nothing escaped her rage.
The other parents joined in, grabbing whatever they could find. My special car turned to scrap metal in minutes.
After breaking the windows, they tore up the leather seats, Grab the crystal jewelry and gold jewelry inside. Then someone popped the trunk.
“Holy shit! Look at all this stuff!”
Ashley pulled out a painting, sneering. “Playing art collector with my Alpha’s money? Please.”
She ripped it in half. “Trash like you deserves trash.”
A bystander’s eyes went wide. “Wait – that’s a Lycan Elder original! They sell for millions!”
Ashley just laughed. “So what? It’s my Alpha’s money anyway. I can destroy whatever I want.”

Chapter 22
When he married me, he promised her family he would restore the Steele Pack to its former glory. Instead, he secretly diverted funds to maintain his lavish lifestyle.
The pack’s remaining members were few, mostly wolves dependent on him who helped maintain
this facade. The once–magnificent pack territories now lay largely abandoned, with the few
remaining operations sustained only by Lilliana’s family’s money.
But these people thought he was some very capable alpha. And Ashley was basking in their worship.
The parents kept destroying my things, ripping up million–dollar paintings like confetti.
I’d just bought them at auction that morning. Hadn’t even gotten them home.
Watching these idiots, I pulled out my Mind–Link Crystal.
I dialed a number I hadn’t used in five years.
“Get here in five minutes. No excuses.”
