Chapter 15
Lilliana’s POV
A week into my new life at Ironclaw Pack, I found myself adapting to the structured world of business–though it proved more difficult than I had expected. My parents were careful, managing my workload so I wouldn’t burn out, but transitioning from a Luna to an heir was a different kind of battlefield.
Magnus was there more often than not.
“Approach client meetings like a game,” he suggested one evening, his silver eyes glinting with amusement. “Celebrate successes, and make allies out of failures.”
“And if it gets overwhelming?” I asked, rubbing my temples after an exhausting negotiation.
He smirked. “How’s your tolerance for blood wine?”
I raised a brow.
“Sometimes it helps ease the pressure.”
His humor made the heavy days lighter. Magnus was no ordinary wolf–elite–born, yet remarkably unpretentious. His confidence wasn’t the boastful kind I had grown used to in Adeleke’s circles. Instead, it was assured, steady, dangerous in its quiet way.
Meanwhile, danger lurked beyond my routine.
I know I’m being watched by someone who doesn’t want to be watched.
Sarah called me late one evening. “I found him.”
“Him?” I asked, already sensing the answer.
“Axel Vale. Martyna’s former mate.”
I exhaled slowly, leaning back in my chair.
Sarah continued, detailing everything:

The Vale Pack outranked Adeleke’s, but Axel had been born to a mistress. His mother’s ambition had cost him his birthright, earning the Pack Elder’s distrust and barring him from leadership.
Martyna had abandoned him the moment she discovered this.
She had tried her luck back home, failed, and then set her sights on Adeleke.
“Is the pup his?” My voice was steady, calculated.
“Likely,” Sarah confirmed. “And he tried to kill you to keep Adeleke from Irondlaw Pack”
The pieces clicked into place.
Martyna had schemed for power, but if Adeleke never reached me, if he lost everything before he could reclaim me, then her victory would crumble.
I smiled, dark and slow.
“Then let’s give them what they want.”
Sarah’s breath hitched over the line. “A false death?”
“Yes. When Adeleke comes to mourn, I’ll claim his assets–since he loves playing the devoted mate. Martyna will call off Axel, and she’ll lose everything she schemed for.”
A perfectly orchestrated end to their games,
But I needed help.
I approached Magnus.
“You want me to suggest a way for them to kill you that isn’t actually fatal?” he mused, his gaze sharp with interest.
Texplained everything–emotionless, detached, as if discussing someone else’s fate.
He studied me in silence,
Not my words. Me.
His wolf was present in his eyes, assessing me, calculating.

Finally, he exhaled. “A sea death would be easiest, but after your incident…” His voice trailed off, unreadable. “A vehicle accident might work better. They’d likely tamper with your car since your
routine is so predictable.”
My wolf bristled at the idea, but I forced myself to nod.
“How do we lead them to that?”
A slow smile curled at his lips.
“Leave it to me.”
The next day, a few strange werewolves arrive within the territory of the Iron Claw pack ……
