Chapter 11
Adeleke’s POV
I advanced on Martyna, my aura radiating a deadly cold that sent wolves stepping back in fear. She dared. She dared to stand here, wrapped in the ceremonial robes meant for my true mate, after everything she had done.
Her eyes darted around the room, searching for an escape. Instead, she chose lies,
“She attacked me first! I was just retaliating!” she whined.
“Lies!” My voice was a snarl, my wolf’s rage bleeding into my words. My hand closed around her throat before I could stop myself, squeezing just enough to remind her of the power she had dared to challenge.
“Lilliana would never
stoop so low. She wouldn’t even acknowledge your existence!”
Martyna’s hands clawed at my wrist. “The… the pup…” she gasped.
The words hit like a splash of ice water. The pup.
I released her roughly, my fingers tingling with the force of restraint. My lips curled, disgust thick in my voice.
“Only your pregnant state saves you. Be grateful you still have that value.”
The weight of my own words sat bitter on my tongue.
The pack dispersed, whispers thick in the air, the energy tense and charged. No one congratulated me. No one celebrated this mating.
The moment I was alone, I activated my mind–link, calling Lilliana’s friends over and over again.
I knew this was the only woman who would answer my questions at this point.
“Celebrating your new mating, Alpha?” Her voice was sharp as steel, drenched in mockery. “Sorry to miss the grand ceremony.”

I exhaled sharply. “It’s a misunderstanding.” My throat felt raw. “I need to explain to Lilliana.”
A dry laugh crackled over the connection. “Misunderstanding? Getting your old flame pregnant is a misunderstanding?”
My jaw clenched.
Sarah’s voice turned to ice. “You know how much Lilliana sacrificed for your bond.”
A sharp pain tore through my chest. I knew. I had always known.
When we first met, Lilliana had been preparing to join her family’s Ironclaw Pack after university. Instead, she had stayed for me, giving up her ambitions, her lands, her future–because I had begged.
“Stay with me.”
She had.
For five years, wolves saw her as nothing more than a decorative Luna, but I knew better. Every pack alliance, every negotiation, every crisis–Lilliana had been the one to hold everything together.
From the elders to the servants, they had all respected her deeply.
And I had let her be humiliated, let her suffer Martyna’s torment in silence, let her leave.
I swallowed hard. “She… knows about the pup?”
“Did you plan to hide it forever?” Sarah snapped. “Have Martyna whelp in secret?”
I gritted my teeth, the full weight of my failure sinking in.
“Where is she?” I demanded. “I need to explain.”
Sarah’s reply was immediate. “Can you reject Martyna’s pup? If so, I’ll tell you.”
I faltered. My wolf howled in agony.
“Lilliana is infertile.” The words slipped out, as if saying them aloud justified my hesitat
Martyna delivers, I’ll banish her from the territory forever.”

The silence on the other end was deady.
Sarah inhaled sharply. You bastard.”
Her voice was low and shaking, filled with so much disgust that it made my stomach turn
Liliana shouidered the blame for your infertility.” Her words were like a blade to my gut. “She protected your pride. She let the world think she was the barren one. And now you plan to keep another the wolf’s pape
I opened my mouth, but no words came.
“You’ll pay for this betrayal Adeleke.*
The mind–link con off, and I felt something shatter inside me.
The next morning, Beta entered my office hesitantly.
Asia Luna Liliana has gone to Ironclaw Pack”
The breath rushed from my lungs like I had been struck
My hands trembled as I clenched the edge of my desk.
Ironclaw Pack. The one place I could never go.
Five years ago, when I had formalized my mate–bond with Lilliana, her parents had made me sign a blood cath
“If our daughter ever returns to Ironclaw Pack heartbroken because of you, you will be forbidden from ever setting foot in our lands again. Any attempt to do so will immediately strip you of all your holdings, transferring them to Lilliana. Whether she accepts you or not, you will leave with nothing.”
My head pounded.
I had signed it without hesitation, because at the time, I had believed it to be impossible.
Liliana would never leave me.
But now the had.

I surged to my feet. “Book me a flight to Ironclaw Pack. As soon as possible.”
Beta hesitated. “Alpha…”
I turned on him, my voice a snarl. “Now.”
He exhaled slowly, his eyes full of warning. “The moment you step into Ironclaw Pack, that blood oath activates. You will lose everything.”
I didn’t care. I had already lost the only thing that mattered.
“Are you certain you want to go?”
I clenched my fists so tightly my claws punctured my palms.
“I don’t care about holdings. About power. About my title.” My voice was hoarse, breaking.
“I just need to get her back.”
