Bella arrived at George’s house gate with a chicken in hand, intending to make some soup for her uncle. And there, she was confronted by Elinor, Alpha Xavier’s mother, who had been waiting for her
Elinor wasted no time in getting to the point. “I have something to say to you.”
“I’m not free!” Bella refused bluntly,
“Just a few words,” Elinor insisted, determined not to let her go. “Bella Moonshadow, name your price!
“What do you mean?”
“I know you were bitter about the divorce settlement. So when you saw that Alpha Xavier was about to get engaged, you came back here to cause trouble. Well, I’m telling you now, I will never let Alpha Xavier be with you. You should give up!”
“Don’t worry, Elinor. Your wishes align with mine,” Bella retorted.
“Is that so? Then leave Moonlight Falls immediately. I’ll give you money. Once you have it, leave right away!”
Bella looked at Elinor, her ex–mother–in–law, with a smile instead of anger. “Elinor, how much are you -planning to give me?”
“How about one million?” When Bella only sneered and didn’t respond, Elinor quickly added, “Fine, two million dollars. And if you leave right away, I can add another five hundred thousand dollars!”
“Two million and five hundred thousand dollars? Elinor, do you think I’m foolish?”
“Well, how much do you want then?”
Bella held up a finger. Elinor frowned, saying, “Ten million? Bella Moonshadow, do you think I’m easily swayed?”
“No, Elinor. I want a hundred million dollars. Give me that amount, and I’ll leave immediately!”
“One hundred million? Are you crazy, obsessed with money?” Elinor’s expression changed.
“Didn’t you tell me to name my price? Let me tell you, give me a hundred million dollars, and I’ll leave right away. Otherwise, forget about it!”
“You shameless woman! You lack gratitude!” Elinor cursed angrily. Bella sneered and said, “What’s the matter, Elinor? Are you angry because you’re embarrassed? Since you can’t meet the named price, why pretend to be so wealthy?”

“Bella Moonshadow, don’t be so audacious. I can still hold you accountable for Samantha’s loss. If you don’t listen to me, don’t blame me!”
“Really? Let’s see what you’re going to do. You wouldn’t want your future daughter–in–law to be infamous as a mistress, would you? It wouldn’t be a small scandal if Alpha Xavier’s mate willingly became a mistress and destroyed someone else’s family, right?”
“You!” Elinor hadn’t expected the usually quiet Bella Moonshadow to be so formidable. She was momentarily speechless. Bella, having no time to deal with Elinor’s nonsense, walked past her and continued on her way.
As Bella walked away, Elinor sneered. “You’re too naive to fight against me, you little b*tch. Get ready to meet your end!”
