“Here’s all the information we could find about Mr. Horvath.” Felicity’s personal assistant handed her a tablet as the car started moving.

Felicity took it without a word, her nails tapping against the smooth screen as she scanned the document. She had done her research before meeting Liam, but clearly, she hadn’t done enough. She had underestimated just how infuriatingly direct he could be.
She scrolled past the basic details–his full name, date of birth, and known assets–until she reached the part that mattered.
Education: University of London, first–class honors in Business and Finance.
Felicity tilted her head. “He studied in London?”
“Yes,” her assistant confirmed. “Graduated at the top of his class. But instead of joining his family’s business, he founded his own company at twenty–three.”
Felicity’s lips pressed together. That explained a lot. Most men in his position would have ridden on their family’s wealth, taken an executive position in an already established company, and lived comfortably without having to build something of their own.
But not Liam Horvath.

Her assistant hesitated before speaking. “If I may, Miss Covington… I don’t think a man like Liam Horvath would hand over a company just because someone asks.”
Felicity’s grip on the tablet tightened slightly.
She had already learned that the hard way. She had assumed he might offer her something in return for a date or some flirtation that would end up in bed. She wouldn’t have minded–men were men, after all. Beasts by nature.
But she wasn’t done yet.
“What else?” she asked.
Her assistant scrolled through the report. “He’s highly private. No confirmed relationships, no scandals, no unnecessary media presence. He keeps everything tightly controlled. His employees are loyal, and none of his partners have spoken against him.”
Felicity narrowed her eyes slightly. “And weaknesses?”
The assistant paused. “None that we could find.”

Felicity clicked her tongue in irritation.
Everyone had a weakness.
She just needed to figure out what Liam Horvath’s was,
“However.” Her assistant hesitated.

“Well, he has been photographed with a woman multiple times. I did some research, and the woman is actually a childhood friend of his–Miss Isabella Rossi,”
“Rossi?”
“Yes, from the Rossi Group. However, for some reason, she’s not working with the company. There were some rumors about Miss Rossi and Mr. Horvath, but none of them can be confirmed. Although… there is a possibility that the two are living together or in the same building.”

It wasn’t uncommon for wealthy men to keep their relationships private, especially when announcing them wouldn’t bring any advantage. If Liam and this Isabella were together, it made sense that there were no public confirmations. Some rich men valued their privacy over publicity, and from what she had gathered about Liam Horvath, he wasn’t the type to flaunt anything personal.
Still, if this woman was important to him, then she might be useful.
She tapped her manicured nails against the tablet. “Dig deeper into Isabella Rossi. I want to know everything–her background, her connections, where she spends her time, and what her relationship with Horvath really is. Also… I need to know if she had some problems that we can help her with.” If this woman is somehow relevant to Mr. Horvath then she could be useful in this game.
Her assistant nodded. “I’ll get started on that.”
Before Felicity could say anything else, the assistant’s phone buzzed. She glanced at the screen and hesitated. “It’s your father. He wants you to come to the company immediately.”
Felicity snorted.
Of course, he did.
She already knew what this was about. Her father had been scrambling to keep Covington Holdings afloat, and in his desperation, he had started reaching out to every powerful bachelor in his network. He wasn’t calling her to discuss business. He was calling because he was trying to marry her off.
She exhaled slowly, gripping the tablet a little tighter. It wasn’t the first time he had tried, and it wouldn’t be the last.
“Don’t answer,” she said. “And from now on, ignore calls from both my father and my brother.”
Her assistant hesitated before nodding. “Understood.”
Felicity turned her gaze back to the city lights flashing past the car window.
Her father was running out of options.
But so was she.
And she wasn’t going to let herself become some bargaining chip in his desperate attempt to save the company.

If anything, most of these women seemed to have parted with him on good terms.
