Chapter 119
SLAP!
The sharp sound echoed through the office. Cecil’s head snapped to the side, her cheek burning from the force of the impact. She stared at her husband in pure shock, her lips parting slightly as if she couldn’t believe what had just happened.
“You dare-!” she started, but before she could finish–SLAP!
Her head jerked again as CEO Weiss struck her a second time, his palm connecting with her other cheek.
“I dare!” he bellowed, his chest rising and falling as he glared at her. “And I would dare slap you again if you still don’t understand what you’ve done!”
Cecil clutched the edge of the desk, steadying herself as she looked at him in disbelief. “You hit me?” she breathed, her fingers trembling. For the first time in their marriage, he… he hit her! “You- Actually-”
CEO Weiss scoffed. He grabbed a folder from his desk and slammed it down in front of her. “Do you even understand the implications of what you’ve done? Do you realize the mess you just created?”
Cecil’s hands curled into fists. “I was trying to-
“You were trying to what?” CEO Weiss cut her off, his eyes blazing. “Trying to humiliate Izzy? Trying to force her out? Trying to what–scare her?” He let out a bitter laugh as he rubbed his temples. “Did you forget who she is? Did you think she was just some ordinary woman? That she would cower?” He leaned forward, his hands pressing against the desk as he loomed over her. “She’s a Rossi, Cecil. A ROSSI!”
Cecil flinched at the intensity of his words, but he wasn’t finished
“Did you forget who her grandfather was?” he continued, his hands balling into fists. “Did you think that just because old man Rossi is gone, he didn’t leave anything behind? That he didn’t teach her a thing or two?” He let out another laugh, shaking his head. “That man built an empire from the ground up. He crushed anyone who stood in his way. He was ruthless, relentless–and you thought his only heir wouldn’t be the same?
Cecil swallowed hard, her fingers trembling against the desk. “I
“You thought she was bluffing?” CEO Weiss sneered. “That’s what you’re going to say next, isn’t it?” He stepped back. “She warned us. She told us she had evidence, but you didn’t listen. No… instead you wanted the public to judge her, hoping to pressure her!” He gestured toward the door. “Now she’s suing you. Do you understand what this means?”
Cecil clenched her teeth. “I didn’t know about the recording,” she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. Why the hell would she even think that Izzy had some recorder with her? Who walks around with a video recorder in their purse? “I thought she was just trying to intimidate us.”
CEO Weiss let out a sharp breath before another humorless chuckle escaped him. He reached for his chair and sank into it, rubbing his face with both hands before looking at her again. “You thought?” He exhaled. “You thought she was bluffing?” He shook his head in disbelief. “And now, what do you think will happen next? Hm? Do you think Izzy’s going to let this go?”
Cecil remained silent. She recalled the comments about Izzy. The views are increasing as time goes on.
He slammed his fist on the desk, making her jump. “She won’t!” he snapped. “She warned you! She warned all of us, but you were too blinded by your own arrogance to listen.”
Cecil’s lips parted slightly, her throat tightening.

What would your friends think of you, huh!?” He shook his head. “Do you think this is still about Monica? That girl was just a pawn. The real game was always between you
and you lost before you even realized you were playing.”
Cecil’s fingers curled into her palm, her nails digging into her skin.
“She’s going to destroy you,” CEO Weiss continued. “And the worst part? You handed her the ammunition.”
Cecil finally looked up, her jaw tightening. “There has to be something we can do.”
“Mom? Dad?”
Calen’s voice interrupted them. He rushed to his mother’s side. -Izzy me to come, and I-”

“Did you know that she has a recording of the café?” Cecil said. “She–she must have placed it in her bag. She deliberately led us on! She wanted us to think that she would be helpless, and then she–she waited!”
Cecil just realized how ruthless Izzy really was. Her breathing was uneven as the weight of her realization settled in. Her hands trembled against the desk as the pieces of Izzy’s game fell into place.
Izzy never planned to simply walk away. She
Ver intended to let this go.
From the beginning, she had wanted them to lash out. She had wanted them to think she was helpless, that she was vulnerable. She wanted them to think that they had control of everything. That was the bait. And like fools, they had taken it -hook, line, and sinker.
Cecil’s fingers dug into the desk.
Izzy had led them on, giving them just enough space to think they were in control. She let them attack her online, let them tarnish her reputation, and let them push the narrative that she was a monster. Because she knew that would give her grounds to fight back and use the law on her side!
And they had handed her everything she needed.
The defamation, the public accusations, the
pressure to make her leave Weiss Inc.–all of it had been carefully orchestrated
Izzy had waited. She had let them build up their confidence, let them think they had the upper hand. But the moment they overplayed their hand–when Monica pulled that stunt at the café when Cecil had openly moved against her–Izzy had struck back.
Cecil gritted her teeth. She wanted this to be big from the start.
She wasn’t just playing defense. She was building a

case.
Cecil’s head snapped toward her husband. “We need to fight back,” she said, her hands clenching into fists. “We can’t just sit
here and let her control the narrative.”
CEO Weiss let out a sharp breath. “And what exactly do you think we can do now, Cecil?” He gestured toward the desk. “She has evidence. She has a lawsuit already in motion.”
Cecil’s jaw tightened. “We counterfile. We claim harassment, manipulation—”

“We claim nothing.” CEO Weiss cut her off, slamming his palm onto the desk. “You still don’t get it, do you?”
Cecil flinched.

He leaned forward, his eyes burning into hers. “If we push back now, it only strengthens her case. The board will be made aware of what you and your son did. And they will never trust someone who would openly do that. The target isn’t just you,” the CEO looked at Calen. “She let you walk right into a trap. She gave you enough rope, and you hanged yourself with it.”
