Chapter 114
Chapter 114
“Some of the board members were already waiting, in the boardroom, Anna announced as she looked at her tables. In response, Izzy nodded. Just as CEO Weiss promised, the emergency meeting indeed happened on the same day tezy was
n she overheard voices choing from around the corner. She paused and look a step about to turn into another hallway when back, remaining hidden as she listened.
“I heard that Miss Rossi pushed her down the stairs,” one person whispered. “And that there was a lot of blood. Apparently, someone tried to call the police, but someone stopped it. They believe it was one of Miss Rossi’s people”
“Seriously?” another replied.
Hearing this, Anna, who was following behind Izzy, tried to reveal herself, but Izzy stopped her. She shook her head and signaled for her to stay back and listen. Yes, Izzy was also very interested in the rumors surrounding her about that incident.
Izzy knew that Monica still had friends in the company, so this was not exactly a surprise.
“That’s not all. Apparently, Monica told someone that Miss Rossi planned it days in advance. Something about jealousy over Sir Calen. She asked to meet Monica just to get rid of the child.”
“Jealousy? I don’t buy it. Why would Miss Rossi act like that just because of jealousy? But the cameras conveniently not working? That’s suspicious. They say even the parking lot cameras were offline.”
“Exactly. It’s too convenient. If this wasn’t deliberate, then why would every single camera in that area malfunction at the same time?”
Izzy raised an eyebrow as she leaned against the wall. Creative, she thought. Whoever was spreading these rumors wasn’t holding back. She silently commended their speed. It hadn’t even been a full day since her conversation with CEO Weiss, and already these stories were making the rounds.
“Still,” the first person continued, lowering their voice slightly. “You’d think she’d be more careful with her reputation. With all the investors watching the Macao project, this could ruin her
“Oh, come on. Women like that always find a way to land on their feet. You know how powerful her family is.”
“I heard Madam Weiss wanted her fired from the project, but it was Sir Calen who tried to stop it. I mean… he cheated on her, but that’s his child, right? Why is he still on the side of the one who hurt his child?”
“Who knows if Sir Calen even wants that child? We all know that Monica isn’t a member of the Elite, right? I mean… I would choose Miss Rossi without batting an eye too.”
“Hey! You are too loud!”
Izzy snorted inwardly. Finally, she decided to intervene. “I didn’t think that the finance team was this idle.”
“Miss Rossi!” someone exclaimed. Almost immediately, the faces of the group paled.
“I–We- We didn’t mean-”
“You should refrain from saying something without any evidence. That could be detrimental to your careers,” Izzy said, smiling at them. “Remember to check your facts.”
Hearing her words, everyone’s faces turned even paler. Some even looked as pale as a piece of paper.

Chapter 11t
Miss Rossi, 1
“You should go back to your offices, Izzy said, the simile on her face never fading.
The group of employees quickly nodded and scrambled away, etically running back to their desks without a word. Once the hallway was clear, Izzy turned to Anna.
“I want their names,” Izzy said. “Look into them. I want to know they were ever connected to Monica or worked with her before.”
Anna nodded. “Understood.” She hesitated for a moment, then ked, “Are you going to be alright, Miss Rossi?”
Izzy resumed walking down the hallway. “If you’re worried about me losing my job, don’t,” she replied. “That’s not going to happen. And you’ll continue to work for me, Anna. I’m not going anywhere.”
Anna smiled in relief and followed closely behind. “Thank you, Miss Rossi.”
They walked together until they reached the large doors marked “Board Room.” Anna stepped forward and opened one of the heavy doors. Izzy entered without hesitation, her gaze sweeping across the room. Several familiar faces were already seated, including Calen and Cecil Weiss. Both of them turned to look at her as she stepped inside.
However, Izzy maintained a calm, composed demeanor as she approached the large conference table. She took her place at the table setting her phone down in front of her. A few of the board members exchanged glances, clearly aware of the reason for the emergency meeting.
“It’s good to see you here, Miss Rossi,” one of the board members said.
“I didn’t think you would be brave enough to come,” Cecil noted at the same time.
Sensing the trouble brewing, Jørgen Lund cleared his throat and leaned forward. “Miss Rossi, thank you for joining us on such short notice. As you are aware, this meeting was called due to concerns raised regarding both your conduct and the status of the Macao project.”
Izzy gave a brief nod. “Yes, I’m fully aware. I also welcome the opportunity to address these concerns directly.”
Cecil raised an eyebrow but said nothing, a faint smirk tugging at her lips. Calen, meanwhile, avoided Izzy’s gaze altogether, his expression unreadable.
Jørgen glanced at Svend Nielsen, who tapped a pen against his notebook. “Let’s get straight to the point,” Svend said. “There are rumors circulating that could potentially harm the company’s reputation. We need to determine whether these claims have any merit and how best to proceed.”
Izzy clasped her hands together on the table. “Gentlemen, before any assumptions are made, I would like the chance to present my side of the story and provide evidence to refute these allegations.”
Cecil leaned forward slightly. “Evidence? And what evidence would that be, Miss Rossi?”
Izzy met her gaze without flinching. “You’ll find out soon enough, Mrs. Weiss. I would love to show it to you now, but… we can’t really start this meeting without the CEO, right?”
Cecil’s face darkened. “I know you are trying to delay the inevitable.”
Izzy remained silent for a moment, letting the tension in the room build as all eyes shifted to her. Then, she slowly turned her gaze to Calen.

Chapter 114
“I wasn’t expecting to see you here today, Mr. Weiss,” she said calmly, though her words carried an edge sharp enough to cut “I thought you’d still be with Miss Monica, comforting her. After all… you just lost your child, didn’t you?”
Calen stiffened in his seat, his jaw tightening. “Izzy-”
“I heard the fetus was already a few weeks old,” Izzy continued.lease, Mr. Weiss, accept my condolences. I can only imagine how devastated you must be. Such a tragedy.”
“Enough of this!” Cecil snapped, her eyes blazing. “That is none of your business, Miss Rossi! How dare you-”
“Mom,” Calen interrupted sharply, cutting her off. He shook his head slowly, clearly uncomfortable, as he avoided Izzy’s piercing stare. “Let’s just wait for Father to get here.”
Izzy arched an eyebrow, a faint smirk tugging at her lips, but said nothing more. Then the sound of the door opening drew everyone’s attention.
Renard Weiss strode inside, straightening his suit jacket as he approached the table. “Apologies for the delay, ladies and gentlemen,” he said, glancing around. “I was tied up on a call from another meeting.” He looked at Cecil and his son before his gaze shifted to Izzy. “Shall we begin?”
