Lemira’s smirk was ice–cold, revealing a side of her even she didn’t know existed until now.
Caspian and Lucian stood by Lemira, making it crystal clear they were on her team.
Asher, pointing fingers at Caspian and Lucian, exploded, “You two turncoats, do you even remember who helped you kickstart your company? And now, you’re handing over all your shares to Lemira? Have you lost your minds?”
Lucian managed a bitter smile, “Asher, you’re the one losing it. Lemira is our sister, not our enemy”
He couldn’t fathom why Asher was going to such extremes.
Evelina was fuming on the sidelines. How could both Caspian and Lucian side with Lemira, even going as far as transferring their shares to her?
If Lemira became the company’s major shareholder, wouldn’t that ruin her plans?
Evelina, frustrated, chimed in, “Lucian, you of all people know how much Asher has sacrificed for the Langston family. He shared his shares out of brotherly love, and now you’re sidelining him. That’s just cruel.”
“Spare me your moral high ground,” Lemira shot back at Evelina. “Asher practically drained the Langston family’s finances and assets to start his venture. It’s only fair for everyone to share in the dividends.”
Evelina’s eyes welled up with tears, turning to Asher, “If I had shares, I would never betray you.”
Asher was speechless, never imagining this day would come.
He glared at Lucian and Caspian, “Are you sure you want to side with Lemira against me?”
Lucian responded, “Asher, it’s not about being against you. Handing the company over to Evelina instead of Lemira is nonsensical, especially since Lemira’s scripts have raked in a fortune for us.”
“Ha! Have you so quickly forgotten how Lemira had Alaric and Caspian jailed? Her heartlessness towards the Langston family, does that mean nothing to you?”
Asher was utterly defeated.
He couldn’t believe his own brothers were turning against him, all he did was for the good of the Langston family.
Caspian stepped in, “Asher, are you out of your mind? The incident with Lemira, yes, I was at fault. I was the one who wanted to hurt her, and Evelina misled me. That was on me. Evelina, the real villain, misled me, and
what does that have to do with Lemira?”
Caspian didn’t hold back, “Including the Alaric situation, it was Evelina who first stole Lemira’s work and dragged Alaric into it. Alaric wasn’t innocent, but Evelina was the instigator. Lemira was the victim here!”
Asher, clenching his teeth, retorted, “It was all a trap set by Lemira.”
“Did Lemira force Evelina to steal her work? No. We were in the wrong from the start!”
Caspian, getting closer to Asher and pointing at Evelina, said, “This woman is the root of all evil. Both incidents were caused by her.”
Seeing this, Evelina quickly played the victim, “Caspian, I did what I did just to secure the contract for Lucian’s company. And as for you assaulting Lemira, that has nothing to do with me. You’ve always been quick to throw punches.”
Caspian, hearing Evelina’s words, was livid.
Asher pushed Caspian away, “I know Evelina better than any of you. She might be a bit naive, but she’s not malicious.”
Hearing Asher defend Evelina, Lemira almost burst into laughter.
