Lemira’s voice was icy, “Do you really think there’s anything I wouldn’t dare to do?”
“Lemira, you’re the black sheep of the Langstons. You’ve completely messed up Asher’s plans. How are we ever going to find the killer and avenge our parents now?”
“What do you mean?” Lemira was clueless about any plans Asher had.
When she had gone to negotiate with Asher, he hadn’t mentioned anything of the sort.
“Lemira, are you only asking now? It’s too late! You’re the reason our parents are gone, and now you’re sabotaging Asher’s plan. If you’re not the black sheep, what are you?”
Caspian was hysterical.
Asher entered the room, taking Caspian’s phone, “Lemira, aside from Lucian, I specifically arranged each of your brothers‘ careers so that one day, when we found a lead, we could catch the killer and make them pay!”
Hearing this, Lemira scoffed, “Trying to guilt–trip me with our parents now?”
“But I never lied to you about this.”
After Asher said this, silence fell on both ends of the call, then he continued, “The Langstons haven’t come this far easily, Lemira. Whatever issues you have with Caspian could have been settled privately, without ruining
him.”
“Hah, now you say this? Don’t you find it absurd?”
Lemira hung up, not believing a word Asher said.
If there really was such a plan, Asher would have mentioned it during the whole Alaric situation.
Debby tentatively asked, “Ms. Langston, do you really have photos of Caspian’s disfigurement?”
“No, I lied. But he wouldn’t dare to call my bluff.”
Lemira hadn’t thought to take any photos at the time.
Seeing Caspian covered in blood, looking quite horrifying, had taken her by surprise.
She wasn’t used to keeping such leverage.
But since Caspian had used someone close to her to threaten her, she had said it on purpose.
“Well, we’ll handle the media. You just rest up.”
“Thanks, I appreciate it.”
“No trouble at all, it’s what we’re here for.”
Debby and his team quickly left the room, knowing it was their turn to step up and win this battle.
Alone in her room, Lemira received a message from Orion: “What are you up to?”
“Just finished streaming, scrolling through the drama online.”
“Don’t bother, it’ll only upset you. Go out, take a walk. I’ll join you later.”
Orion’s response lifted Lemira’s spirits considerably.
Two days later, Lemira had to visit the police station.
Orion came to accompany her. In the car, he took her hand, “Mr. Alfred will join us soon. Any questions, just ask him.”
“I will.”

Chapter 448
Lemira glanced at their intertwined hands, then out the window, her mood visibly brighter.
They soon arrived outside the precinct.
Wearing a hat and mask to avoid media attention, Lemira was initially anxious but noticed no paparazzi lurking and felt relieved.
Inside, she and Mr. Alfred underwent police questioning, which didn’t take long.
Exiting the precinct with Mr. Alfred, Lemira saw the Langstons had just arrived.
Caspian’s face was wrapped in bandages, and he was in a wheelchair, looking severely injured.
Enemies on sight.
Spotting Lemira, Caspian accused, “Lemira, I am your brother. You said you wanted to act, so I pulled strings to get you roles. When you struggled, I even helped you rehearse. And this is how you repay me?”
