“It’s fine, how was practice this afternoon?”
“Well, we were supposed to train, but the production team needed us for filming, teaching us all how to coordinate our scenes, so no training today.”
Lemira’s mood visibly cooled.
Caspian was definitely doing this on purpose. He knew the team had big plans for next year’s competitions, and everyone was squeezing practice into their already tight schedules.
Their practice time was precious as it was.
Just then, Caspian strolled in: “Everyone ready? Just do what we went over earlier.”
Lemira, with a stern face, looked at Caspian: “When will we wrap up?”
“That depends on how well everyone works together, and the actors‘ performance.”
Caspian appeared unfazed, as if the earlier discussion hadn’t happened: “If your performance is lacking, it might take longer. We might even have to continue tomorrow.”
Lemira felt irritated: “I recall there are only two scenes, one here and another outdoors.”
“Correct. You might want to go over your lines now. We’ll start with the leads‘ scenes.”
Lemira went back to her office to fetch the script. Having written scripts before, diving into this one wasn’t too
hard for her.
When she returned to the lobby, Caspian said, “We’re starting. You ready?”
“Yeah.”
Lemira took her place. Her role was simple, playing the team captain but as an antagonist who looks down on the female lead, only to be proven wrong in the end.
Her character was to duel with Evelina’s in–game character.
But during their duel, Evelina’s character quickly met her demise.
Evelina, looking forlorn, said, “Lemmy, it’s just a scene. You gotta pull your punches a bit, or how are we going to film this?”
Caspian calmly intervened: “Let’s take it from the top.”
Evelina’s eyes gleamed with a hint of triumph, finally besting Lemira, at least once.
Regardless, the victor was her.
Lemira, albeit reluctantly, had to go easy, yet Evelina’s character still lost.
Lemira, growing impatient, retorted, “How foolish are you? How can you lose like that? How did you ever compete before?”
Evelina’s eyes welled up: “It wasn’t on purpose.”
Caspian approached: “Lemira, if you’re not willing to lose to Eve, we can’t shoot today. We’ll have to wait till
tomorrow.”
“No, we’ll do it today.”
Lemira didn’t want to waste any more time.
But Caspian shook his head: “Let’s all take a short break. I’ll talk to her about the scene. After all, my sister is new to this, let’s be a bit more understanding.”

No one else had anything to add.
Caspian took Lemira upstairs to the office.
But Lemira was furious: “It’s clear Evelina’s just not up to par. If I make it too obvious I’m going easy, it’ll be clear to everyone. They’ll think that’s the level of the Orvin University Team.”
This was supposed to be a coming–of–age drama that also promoted the Orvin University Team,
“I know, it’s Evelina who’s falling short, not you.”
Caspian’s tone was light, he even grabbed a glass of water to drink.
Lemira eyed him: “So, you’re intentionally wasting our time?”
“Exactly.”
Caspian’s smirk carried a hint of malice, aware of Lemira’s eagerness to get the team ready for next year’s competitions.
Lemira snatched the glass from his hand and tossed it into the trash.
Her voice was cold: “What are you really after?”
Caspian didn’t get upset, instead, he casually picked up a napkin from the table and wiped his shirt. He said calmly: “I’m teaching you a lesson. This is what happens when you don’t listen to my advice!”
