Was there really someone else in that car during the accident?
Lemira clutched her head, but for the life of her, she couldn’t remember what exactly happened during that crash.
After much pondering, she decided to give Lucian a call.
“Lemmy, you’re calling me? What’s up?” Lucian’s voice was filled with surprise.
Lemira hesitated before speaking, “The accident back then… have we really not found the culprit?”
“Why bring this up all of a sudden? Did you remember something?”
“No, but Caspian mentioned that there was more to the accident than meets the eye, right?”
After Lemira’s question, the line went silent.
Finally, Lucian spoke, “This isn’t something we can clear up in a brief call. Can you come to the hospital?”
“Can’t you just tell me over the phone?” Lemira didn’t fancy the idea of visiting the hospital.
Lucian’s voice carried a plea, “This is important. We need to talk face–to–face. Do you really not want to see me?” He coughed violently, and Lemira could hear doctors and nurses in the background.
“Mr. Langston, you can’t neglect your meals any longer. You need to eat well.”
“Mr. Langston, if this continues, we might have to operate on your stomach.”
Listening in, Lemira couldn’t quite pinpoint her feelings.
He seemed to be in serious condition, a stark contrast to his past self.
Soon, Hogan took the phone, “Ms. Lemira, he’s off for treatment. Can you make it here later?”
Lemira was silent for a while before responding, “I’ll see.”
She hung up and scrolled through her phone, finding news articles about her recent slap incident, now clarified as a rehearsal gone wrong.
Feeling upset, Lemira left the base through a side door and headed straight to the
gym.
Changing into her workout clothes, she was surprised to find a familiar figure at the boxing ring.
“You got time today?” she asked in astonishment.
Orion, in a grey tracksuit, looked youthful and vibrant.
“Just checking if you’ve been slacking off.”
His gaze was gentle as he extended his hand, “Come on.”
Lemira looked at him, feeling her irritation subside. She took his hand and climbed into the ring.
Putting all her energy into the sparring session, she realized no matter how she attacked, Orion effortlessly dodged every move.
Exhausted, she collapsed onto the floor, “You liar, you’re not an amateur.”
Even with her improvements, she still couldn’t beat him.
Orion handed her a towel and water, “Don’t believe everything a man says.”
“You’re different,” she countered.
Orion looked at her, “I’m still a man.”
Glancing at the time, Lemira closed her eyes to rest.

Chapter 41
Orion broke the silence, “Got plans after this? You’ve been checking the time.”
“Yeah, I have an appointment.”
Hearing this, Orion’s hand paused. He asked, without revealing much, “A guy or a girl?”
“A guy.”
Lemira got up to change, leaving Orion frowning at her departure.
Was it a guy?
After changing, Lemira saw Orion waiting, “Guys are always quick, huh?”
“Where’s your meeting? I’ll drive you.”
He sounded so casual, as if it was on his way.
Lemira didn’t argue, “Sure.”
As they drove, Orion couldn’t help but ask, “Seeing someone?”
Lemira couldn’t help but laugh, “No, I’m heading to the hospital.”
His eyes narrowed slightly, “To see Lucian?”
“I need to ask him something. Caspian mentioned earlier today that there was more to the accident. There was someone else in that car, and I want to know who.”
Orion slammed on the brakes!
