Orion knew exactly what had happened back then.
After the accident, the driver didn’t even try to help; he just fled the scene.
It was Orion who went to check and carried Lemira out from under the wreck.
Lemira looked blankly at the man next to her. Why would he say that?
Lucian frowned and said, “What do you know? After the accident, only Lemmy was found sitting by the roadside, crying. The driver and my parents died in the explosion, and the driver’s body was found in front of the car door, clearly he had tried to go back to save others.”
Lemira knew this was the official narrative from the police investigation.
But why would Orion dispute that?
Facing Lemira’s gaze, Orion averted his eyes. “Maybe a passerby helped out?”
He also couldn’t figure out why the driver would turn back.
Maybe it was a guilty conscience, but the person was dead, and the reason was unknown.
Lucian insisted, “That’s impossible. That road had just opened not long ago; there were no surveillance cameras around, and hardly anyone passed by there.”
Lemira said to Orion, “It’s a shame I can’t remember what exactly happened during the accident, or else I would know who saved me.”
She couldn’t have ended up sitting safely by the roadside without reason.
Someone must have carried her out from under the car.
Orion’s gaze was deep, too thick to dissolve.
He eventually said nothing more.
Because he dared not tell her that he was also at the scene.
Lucian confidently spoke, “Lemmy, the investigation was clear. It was Evelina’s father who saved you. I know you have issues with her, but that’s a fact.”
Despite Evelina’s questionable character, it didn’t change the fact her father had done a favor for the Langston family.
Hearing this, Lemira’s eyes carried a hint of sarcasm.
“I’ve never denied that. But the life Evelina has been living with the Langston family and the life I’ve lived. I’ve paid my dues to Evelina a long time ago.”
Lemira’s tone was cold, especially considering Evelina had wronged her in the past.
She owed nothing to them.
Lucian gave a bitter smile; he knew all too well.
Lemira coldly said, “If you want to repay a favor, do it yourselves. Don’t drag me into it.”
- After speaking, she pulled Orion and left.
Lucian wanted to stop Orion from getting too close, but at that moment, he didn’t dare to chase after them.
He was worried that upsetting Lemira further would mean she would never talk to him again.
Then Caspian called him, “Lucian, I heard you sent Lemira away?”
“I took her home. She couldn’t possibly stay at the hospital.”

“I’ll go see her after work; there are things we still need to clear up. She actually wants to sue Alaric, ruining the guy’s career and making him the laughing stock.”
Lucian felt weary, “It’s not Lemmy’s fault, Alaric and Evelina brought it upon themselves.”
“Wasn’t it Alaric’s doing? What does Evelina have to do with it?”
“That’s what Evelina told you, right?”
Lucian knew it would be like this. Evelina always played her games and would never tell Caspian the truth.
“Lucian, I know you don’t see eye to eye with Eve, but you can’t doubt what she says just because you favor Lemira.”
“Caspian, the one who copied Lemira’s files was Evelina, Alaric just saw it and didn’t stop her.”
Caspian hesitated, “That can’t be right.”
Evelina had always appeared obedient and sensible; he never had to teach her anything.
“There’s video evidence of this. You just need to check the police records. Evelina was the main instigator, it has nothing to do with Lemmy.”
After hanging up, Lucian was determined not to let the Langston family fall apart.
The six siblings had to stay united.
He was determined to clear up any misunderstandings from the past.
Back at the apartment with Orion, Lemira was in a bad mood, though she didn’t show it. She glanced at him, “I’ve been busy these past few days and haven’t had time to tidy up.”
