After she had put someone from the Langstons in their place today, she was actually feeling pretty good.
Lemira, irritated, shut her phone off.
Once the championship game was over, it was all over Facebook.
The Reapers had a huge fan base, and Matthew was especially popular. Good–looking, decent family background–who wouldn’t like Jim?
But the fact that Matthew was a scion of the Everhart dynasty wasn’t public knowledge. It was mostly rumored that he came from a well–off family.
She had learned about it in her past life through Asher.
The next day, Lemira went to class as usual.
Dorian, flanked by his cronies, blocked her way: “Lemira, didn’t I warn you to stop messing with Eve? You think just because Susanna apologized, you can do whatever you want?”
Lemira, clearly annoyed, walked straight towards Dorian.
Scared, Dorian backed away, stammering, “I’m warning you–if you lay a hand on me, the Draven family won’t let you off the hook!”
Lemira just looked at him, emotionless, which scared him enough to turn tail and run.

After running away, Dorian felt his pride was wounded, so he immediately called his cousin Thaddeus to complain: “Cousin, did you take care of that thing for me, the heads–up to the law firm?”
“You looking for trouble, telling me what to do?”
“Cousin, I was desperate! Today I tried reasoning with Lemira, and that woman actually tried to hit me. Don’t you remember she hit me once back in Lyria?”
“Seems like you haven’t learned your lesson. Getting beaten up by a girl, what a disgrace to the Draven name.”
Thaddeus felt a headache coming on: “Dorian, I’m warning you, leave Lemira alone!”
“Cousin, is Lemira your girl or something? You protected her back in Lyria too.”
“Mind your business. Just remember what I said, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
After hanging up, Dorian couldn’t help but wonder why his cousin was so protective of Lemira. Maybe there was something between
them.
This was going to be complicated.
Back in the classroom, Evelina immediately asked, “So, what happened?”
“I gave Lemira a piece of my mind, but you know how stubborn she is. Nothing gets through to her.”
Of course, Dorian didn’t mention being scared off by Lemira.
“Did you manage to make sure Lemira couldn’t hire a lawyer?”
Evelina realized Asher had been acting distant, probably still upset over what Lemira said.
Lucian and Alaric were outright ignoring her.
Evelina hoped to change her current situation, relying on Dorian’s help. If he could ensure Lemira couldn’t find a lawyer, then Alaric would be off the hook.
If Alaric was fine, she still had a chance to win him back.
Dorian looked a bit awkward: “Actually, it’s not a big deal, but if I step in, my mom might find out, and that wouldn’t be good for your image.”
Evelina felt disappointed but tried to appear understanding: “Of course, we can’t let your mom think badly of me.”
How would she ever marry into the Draven family then?
Susanna snorted, “Can’t even handle this small task, Dorian. You’re useless!”
Dorian, feeling his pride hurt, retorted, “And you’re not? Why did you apologize to Lemira in public?”
