Chapter 34
He blurted out, “Let’s set her aside for now, we need to talk about the game
Lemira spoke up, “If we want to win this, everyone needs to follow my lead from here on out”
Alaric was the first to challenge her, “And why should we?”
Lemira’s eyes were serious, “Because i know how to win. She was unusually calm as she laid out her thoughts and plans.
Having watched the game earlier, she had a pretty good grasp of the SkyBlaze team members. They had trained together before, so Lemira knew what she was talking about
“Anyone can talk big. Don’t think you’re unbeatable just because you’re a little talented. You haven’t even been training lately. How can you guarantee a win7”
Amira’s lips tightened, “If you won’t follow my lead, then I’m out of the competition,”
Alanc scoffed, “Fine, leave. Do you think you’re that important?”
Lucian quickly intervened, “If no one else has any better ideas, let’s just go with her instruction for now”
Alanc, though reluctant, couldn’t argue. They were out of options.
The competition was about to resume.
Lemira took Evelina’s seat. It was her seat in the past life.
As she put the headphones back on, her expression turned determined. This time, she wasn’t fighting to please Alaric. She was competing for herself.
The last–minute change in the SkyBlaze lineup sparked a bit of discussion.
Onon stood by the window on the second floor, watching the girl who was seriously competing
Thaddeus remarked, “Didn’t you say she was just here to spectate? And now she’s entered the competition. It seems, despite being treated unfairly by her family, they’re still more important to her.”
“You’re wrong. She’s doing it for herself now.”
Orion knew the reason she joined the competition. It definitely wasn’t to please Alaric. Her brilliance was all her own now.
The game began, and the announcer started to comment, “SkyBlaze has had a bit of a hiccup with a last–minute player change. This
new player seems a bit unfamiliar; it’s uncertain how well she’ll perform. SkyBlaze is not in an enviable position night now, how will they break through?”
Lemira dove into the game, playing on Evelina’s account, just like her old role–allowing her to adapt quickly.
She had a plan in place, waiting for the enemy to encircle them. But at a critical moment, Alaric suddenly charged out, revealing their” position.
Lemira cursed under her breath, “What are you doing?”
“Don’t worry about it, I can break through on my own!” Alaric ran out, trying to prove himself, but ended up getting pinned down and beaten by the opposition.
Lemira wasn’t surprised. She commanded directly, “Support, cover me. Everyone else, stick to the plan.”
She burst from behind the wall, cannon in hand, and blasted at the enemy. Her figure darted between buildings, appearing just long enough to disrupt the enemy’s rhythm with her attacks.
The announcer got excited, “Wow, her moves are impressive–so skilled, hardly what you’d expect from a newble, more like a seasoned
pro.
She just stopped dead in her tracks, dodging the enemy’s ultimate move. How did she anticipate that?
Look, she’s charging forward, leaping into the air and unleashing a twelve–hit combo! That’s a move only the legendary King could pull. off. How can this newcomer possibly achieve that? It’s unbelievable!”
The crowd went wild; the entire venue electrified!
King was a legend in everyone’s eyes! Though the legend had retired years ago, his legacy lived on.
What connection could this new girl possibly have with King?

Lemira’s move was devastating.
She took out two opponents in one fell swoop and left another seriously injured. After landing, her gaze briefly met the bloody aftermath on the ground where Alaric lay defeated.
Alaric, fixated on the screen, was engulfed by a wave of shock and disbelief. He knew Lemira was talented, but he had no idea she was this formidable!
But wait, Lemira hadn’t always been this strong. When had she powered up?
From the moment he was captured, Alaric had resigned himself to defeat. But then Lemira swooped in, her agility and keen sense of play stabilizing the team and even turning the tide with King’s move a twelve hit combo!
Alaric realized he might never have truly known his sister. Lemira had become a stranger to him, igniting a fear of losing her that he
ouldn’t quite explain.
He hesitated before speaking. “You…”
But Lemira had already moved on, speaking over the headset, “Report the rest’s location and status, I’ll be right there.”
Only Alaric was left on the spot, looking at merely a game character’s cool retreating figure. Suddenly, he turned to cast a glance at Lemira who kept focusing on the computer screen, her state captivating.
Lucian uttered next to him, “Alaric, you zoned out there?”
Snapped back to reality, Alaric scrambled to catch up. Downstairs, Lemira was leading a fierce assault with the team members, her gameplay nothing short of top–level and spectacular compared to Evelina’s clumsy efforts. This was the gunner he had envisioned!
In the end, it was Lemira who clinched the victory.
Alaric was swamped with mixed emotions. The game he valued so much was won thanks to Lemira, the sister he had underestimated. He had never felt such feeling before, a psychological gap.
The game concluded swiftly, with Lemira, the gunner, standing at the deserted street and basking in the victory under the setting sun. After a brief silence, the host announced, “It’s decided, SkyBlaze wins, thanks to their substitute player’s incredible performance. Could she be the King’s protégé?”
The crowd erupted, some fans chanting for the King. Lemira was momentarily lost in thought while hearing the name, remembering it was someone who had taught her the twelve–hit combo, a man whose connection to the King she had always suspected but never confirmed.
Neither had she ever seen him.
King never revealed himself, and no one knew what he looked like.
Removing her headset, Lemira stood up to the sound of victory cheers, her smile signifying not just the win, but also the impending apology from their disrespectful opponent.
Lucian was the first to come to her, surprised, “Lemon, you were outstanding. We couldn’t have won this game without you! I knew you were secretly practicing despite refusing to join the team, right?”
His joy was evident, relieved that Lemira hadn’t changed. They were still family.
But Lemira’s smile faded at his words; she felt a bit displeased. She turned to the Iron Vow team captain, “You lost!”
The captain looked at her with a complex gaze, “Who are you, exactly?”
Lucian proudly declared, “She’s my sister.”
“But wasn’t Ms. Langston that terrible player from before? When did the Langston family get another Ms. Langston?”
Lucian’s expression stiffened for a moment, “That was our adopted sister. This is our real sister.”
“You guys really know how to play the game, sending a decoy sister‘ to throw us off and keeping your real secret weapon hidden. You caught us completely off guard.”
