Chapter 33
Lemira stood in the hallway, locking eyes with Alaric.
Alaric, feeling his pride wounded, struck first, “Came for a good laugh, did you? Find it amusing to see our team being mocked? Happy Chapter 32
Back then, Alaric really gave her a piece of his mind. He ended up leading someone to check out the situation, only to walk straight into
It was her leading the remaining team members in a charge to rescue them, and ultimately turning the tables with a sneak attack on the enemy’s lair
In this life, she was curious to see what decision Alaric would make without her heads up. Sure enough, Alaric made the name old mistake, charging the whole team into the enemy’s trap
Seeing this all too familiar scenario unfold, Lemita couldn’t help but crack a smile. Typicall
Soon enough. Alaric realized they were caught in a trap, but it was too late.
The team’s rhythm was completely thrown off. Evelina panicked, making one mistake after another, nearly costing her teammates their

Alaric led everyone to retreat into a building. In frustration, Alaric couldn’t help but explode, “Evelina, what were you thinking? Didn’t I say we all retreat? What’s this, trying to show off?”
Evelina was on edge too, “Alaric, I just couldn’t let it go, seeing that opponent so close to defeat made me want to go for the kill.”
“More like serving them kills on a platter. If you were so confident in your moves, you wouldn’t have gotten trapped and put us all at nsk
Publicly berated, Evelina felt her pride took a hit, “If you hadn’t walked us into a trap, getting us all surrounded, none of this would’ve happened.”
Alaric turned red with anger, “You’ve got some nerve blaming me, when it’s clear you’re the weak link. All that training and no improvement, what a waste of time.”
Evelina, her face a mix of colors from anger, stormed off.
The room went into an uproar. After all, a team member storming off in the middle of a match was a big deal.
The big screen zoomed in on SkyBlaze, with Alaric’s displeased expression clear as day. Alaric had no choice but to call for a timeout.
Each match allowed for one timeout.
The opposing fans started murmuring, already beginning to celebrate early. Alaric, face grim, slammed his keyboard, clearly livid.
He hadn’t expected Evelina to actually walk out in a huff. If it were Lemira, no matter how much he yelled, she wouldn’t have thrown such
a tantrum!
The atmosphere turned awkward.
Seeing this, a member of the opposing team stood up, taunting, “Hey Alaric, why not just forfeit? Save yourself from getting beaten too badly, might as well keep some dignity.”
Alaric stood up swiftly, “I won’t give up. Sounds like you’re the ones scared of losing, that’s why you made such comments, huh?”
“Alaric, anyone with eyes can see you’re going to lose this match, especially with a team member walking out. Weren’t you the one boasting about your family team never losing?”
“What family team? Just a bunch of orphans left behind, nothing to boast about. Video games aren’t about who has more kids!” Alaric’s temper flared instantly and he charged forward, “Watch your fricking mouth!”
“Oh? Touched a nerve, have 1? Try anything, see what happens. Orphaned trash, if your parents were alive to see this match, they’d die of shamel
Lemira, overhearing from below, felt her face go cold with anger. How dare they insult her parents?
She headed straight for the backstage.
Alaric was forcibly pulled back by his teammates, avoiding a brawl in front of the audience, which would only create a negative impact.
now?”
Lemira’s expression was cold. ‘It’s because you were outplayed.”
Just then, the IronVow team made their way to the backstage area. Lemira turned her gaze to the captain of IronVow who said those provocative remarks earlier, “Got a question for you. Are you an orphan, with no parents to speak of?”
The captain of IronVow scowled. “What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Exactly what it sounds like. With that foul mouth, I thought maybe you lost your parents early, with no one to teach you manners.
Why you little brat, dare to say that again?”
Lemira had clearly struck a nerve. She shot back, “In the upcoming match, if you lose, then I want a public apology in front of the press for what you said about my parents!”
“You think we’ll lose? You’re dreaming!”
“What scared to take the bet? Feeling a bit shaky, are you?”
Provoked by Lemira’s taunting, the captain quickly took the bait, “Fine, but if you lose, your captain has to publicly apologize for what you said?*
With that, the IronVow team stormed off, leaving a charged atmosphere behind.
SkyBlaze team members turned awkward.
Lemira remained composed, confident in her strategy to win. However, the mood among the SkyBI
Alaric, annoyed, said, “If we lose, you’re apologizing yourself. You’re not even a team member. Who gave you the right to make decisions?”
“I just wanted that guy to apologize publicly, nothing more.”
Right then, Lucian arrived, “Lemmy, seeing you here makes me happy. Finally, our family is back together.”
Lemira pressed her lips together, saying nothing.
Lucian glanced around, “Where’s Eve?”
Alaric’s face stiffened, “Don’t know. She ran off for a bit scolding.”
Another team member chimed in, “Captain, Eve did that just because she really wants to win. She can’t be blamed for getting a bit carried away.”
“Yeah, Captain. Eve’s such a hard worker, staying up late night after night training on her computer. She’s really putting in the effort
“Captain, you were a bit harsh earlier.”
Alaric felt cornered. Harsh? When Evelina insisted on joining the team with no talent to speak of, of course, it would require immense effort. But clearly, Evelina was lacking.
After Evelina’s mistake, as captain, was he not allowed a word of criticism?
Lemira sided with the others, “Exactly, Evelina has put so much effort in, even sacrificing her study time. How could you scold her, Alaric? You’re just worried about losing the game, but Evelina is losing her self–esteem”
Alaric was livid. What was this? How had everything turned against him? Clearly, Evelina was at fault!
Lucian glanced at Alaric, “You really should work on that temper, Alaric. Remember how well Lemira treated you, and you pushed her away, hurting her. Wanna drive Eve away with your words too?”
“Lucian, that’s not the same thing at all. It’s Evelina.”
“Enough. I saw the whole live stream clearly. It was you who led them into a trap. As captain, you’re responsible. Eve just panicked and made a mistake.”
Alaric felt a crushing sense of helplessness. No matter what he said, Lucian didn’t believe him!
Lemira watched from the sidelines, finally seeing Alaric experience what she had felt. The bittemess of being slandered, misunderstood, and unable to defend oneself. How did it feel?
Lucian tried calling Evelina, but there’s no answer.
