“No, things will never be the same once she’s back!”
Lemita’s lips curled into a cold smirk as she copied a video onto a flash drive and handed it to Lucian.
With an icy tone, she said, “Enjoy this at your leisure. I’m off to the police station now. Everyone who had a hand in hurting me that day won’t get off easy!”
Exposing Evelina wasn’t about reclaiming her place in the Langston family.
Holding the flash drive, Lucian felt as if it weighed a ton. Beside him, Evelina fell to her knees in front of Lemira, her voice meek, “Lemira, for the sake of us growing up together, please forgive me this once! It was Susanna who forced me!”
“Dol look like a fool to you? Since when does an apology wipe the slate clean?”
mira looked down on Evelina, a rare sight of the fake angel on her knees. In her past life, right before she was cast out, she too had elt and begged.
“W–What do you want me to do then? I’ll do anything to ease your anger!”
Lemira bent down, pinching Evelina’s chin, her voice chilly, “I just want to go to the police. Get ready for jail time!”
She was determined to see Evelina locked up, no matter how many months it took. After shoving Evelina aside, Lemira left the café! Evelina turned to Lucian in a panic, noticing the flash drive in his hand, “Lucian, I know I messed up, can you forgive me just this once?” “Forgive you? You had your chance and you blew it!”
Lucian pocketed the flash drive, his expression cold, “I’ll give this to Asher, let everyone know the truth.”
It was time Asher knew the injustice Lemira had suffered!
“No, No, please, Lucian, I’m begging you, forgive me this one time. I swear I won’t do it again!”
At the moment, Evelina was frantic. She hadn’t expected Lemira to recover the surveillance footage, catching her off guard.
If the rest of the brothers found out what was on that video, she would be finished. She’d be cast out of the Langston family.
Without her status as the adopted daughter of the Langston family, she’d have nothing.
Watching Lucian’s retreating figure, Evelina wished he’d get into a car accident and die! That way, the flash drive would never reach Asher.

Standing by his car, Lucian was infuriated by her words. Leaning against the car door, he glared at Evelina impassively, “So you swear you only hurt Lemira this once?”
Evelina hesitated, and then boldly claimed,

Lucian was now able to see through Evelina’s charade. But he was deeply disappointed and angry.
The girl he treated like a sister turned out to be an ambitious ingrate!
As he was about to get into his car, suddenly he felt breathless, his vision blurred, and collapsed to the ground.
Seeing this, Evelina approached cautiously, “Lucian, what’s wrong?”
Upon realizing Lucian had passed out, a smile crept onto her face. Fortune was indeed favoring her!
Evelina quickly snatched the flash drive. But Lemira had another copy of the video. If it got to the police, Asher would find out.
What to do? The surveillance footage had to be destroyed!
In a panic, Evelina pulled out her phone, eventually dialing a number, “Hello, I need your help with something!”
